Excellent read, always appreciate an article that makes me look at things from an angle I hadn't fully considered 👍

I don't think it's an improvement aestheticly, but if it means a proper embroidered badge on the shirts instead of a patch that reminds me of 90s knock offs in the market, then I'm sure I'll get used to it!

'Facism thrives when you let it.' Portsmouth RNLI temporarily suspended services after volunteers received abuse following an anti-migration protest. @mrjamesob.bsky.social says it's one of the most 'disgusting' stories he's heard throughout his career.

I don't know who is panicking, but a) I doubt it is the average match going fan and b) anyone who is needs to give their heed a shake. This was always going to be a roller coaster season and we need to roll with the blows and not get carried away with the highs.

...who were already bad enough without needing further reason to fail! Obviously agreed with the sentiment though, for the avoidance of doubt.

That was a dark day for many reasons and Yousef captures them perfectly. All I'll add is I recall being incredibly irritated from my Gallowgate End vantage point that the banner continued to be marched along the East stand when the 2nd half kicked off, totally distracting the players...

Yes, we've been bullied physically here, but we've also been completely passive when we have had the ball which is a dangerous combination - sorry to say we're getting what we deserve so far #NUFC

I find it really interesting how the channeling of cash into the PL, and the Sky 6 starting to be forced to watch their incoming has resulted in them now selling to direct rivals, as it's those with the biggest wallets. I wonder if this could result in a greater appetite for change to FFP rules?

It's deliberately ambiguous. I imagine 'stuck' means waiting for an answer and they were comfortably above that target all last year, and likely still are. Agree on the dog whistle. Charletons.

Excellent read. My only counter opinion is that, however much I rate Eddie Howe as a coach (& I very much believe he's top tier), I don't think he'd make a good England manager, purely because his biggest strength is on the training ground and he wouldn't have the time with players to maximise that

Soz like, but I can't disagree more about forwards 'having every right' to make contact with the keeper to claim a pen. That's cheating and the PL handles those scenarios all wrong week in, week out. Never a pen.

100% on noon. Ugliest sleeve sponsor by some distance.

Aside from the stripes, I'm really irritated that the bespoke designs of the past are long gone. Adidas (and others) make one or two core short designs (collar etc) and change the colours. It's lazy.

Hope I'm wrong, but I feel like we may have seen Bruno's 'Shay Given' moment - the exact minute when he thought, 'I've had enough of this shit'

Yes, we were pedestrian and toothless. Can't pass the ball and appalling decision making. The pen incident shouldn't have mattered.

I agree it was a penvand abstupid one at that. The only problem I have with it is that it was the same as Woltemade against Bournemouth and the narrative there was that it wasn't a pen as a shirt pull didnt cause him to go down. Really frustrating.

Oh, they "expected something like this to happen," just not to them. If you don't want "inhumane" things to happen to your family, maybe don't vote for the people promising to do inhumane things to anybody. www.postandcourier.com/columbia/new...
Daylin and her family, now full U.S. citizens, consider themselves conservative, Christian voters — but she’s rethinking her choice in this last election.

“We voted for this guy. We all voted, every single one of us,” Daylin said. “But we never expected something like this to happen. It’s just inhumane. It’s inhumane, and it’s wrong. And I think most people who voted for him did not expect this, and a lot of them don’t even know this is happening.”

Rolando was detained during the first Trump administration, but ultimately released. Daylin said that’s because their family are considered political exiles for fleeing during the Cuban Communist Revolution, and Cuba won’t accept them back.

This time around was different. On Feb. 7, Rolando was deported to Mexico.

“We’ve never been to Mexico. We know no one in Mexico. We’re not Mexican,” Daylin said. “It’s just very, very upsetting. It’s terrible.”

Think about how our tolerance to low standards of politicians have changed over the last 8 to 10 years and don't be surprised if this is normalised here too in the future...

Regardless of the subject, isn't principle to protect the concept of a 'fair trial'? I.e ensure any potential jury haven't already made their mind up before they set foot in court? Most people will read the version of the truth served to them by the media and would compromise any potential trial.

On the offside goal, am I the only one seeing Haaland push Thiaw a couple of feet away from where the ball eventually went? If thats not interfering with play, I don't know what is.

It was blindingly obvious to anyone who took more than 10 seconds to look beyond the headlines with their own research. There should be IQ tests before people can vote, else there might be a risk some charletons like reform might start getting some support. Oh, crap.

Everybody watching this game could see BDB was having a nightmare second half and that it was only a matter of time before it cost us. I'm sorry to say Howe has made a massive mistake by not hauling him off earlier like.

The More Reform Talks, the More the Mask Slips. So I Say… Give Them the Limelight.
And as Caerphilly showed, let more of the public see that the supposed groundswell of support for Reform is nothing but Farage’s cigarette smoke and mirrors.

Turns out if you tap Carragher's "it went too far, a banner saying ‘Get into them’" comments into a scouse translation app, you get this: "The Liverpool players wilted under that atmosphere and I don't want that to happen again" @worflags.org.uk #NUFC
