When asked if the people of WV considered ourselves to be northern or southern.. We don't fit neatly into northern or southern categories. We're Appalachian, with our own distinct heritage & culture. WV is uniquely positioned as the only state fully within the Appalachian region.

Storm folks: Flood water is *toxic*. It has raw sewage, gasoline and transmission fluid, all kinds of chemicals (especially if it's near power plants or chemical storage facilities), it can even have medical waste and radiological waste. If possible, DO NOT put your body in flood water.
