September 2026 was a warm one in most of Canada except Atlantic Canada and BC. Regions around the Hudson Bay recorded temperatures up to 3°C above normal, while parts of the Maritimes saw their coolest September since 2004 or 2009.

August was another warmer month than normal in most of Canada, with the warmest anomalies in the north and the Maritimes. It was even the warmest August on record in Halifax. Southern parts of the Prairies ended up slightly below normal.

July 2026 was generally warmer than normal in Canada, with colder anomalies in the northwest. The warmest anomalies were in the southern Prairies and northwestern Ontario.

June 2026 was warmer than normal in Canada, with pockets of cooler anomalies here and there. Warmest June on record in Rankin Inlet and Cambridge Bay, and rainiest June on record in Edmonton.

May 2026 was full of temperature swings in #Canada, but overall the warm anomalies slightly outweighed the cold ones. Ontario was cooler than normal while BC, the Prairies, most of Nunavut and Labrador were warmer than normal.

Halifax YHZ airport hit 30.3°C this afternoon! This is the earliest date to hit 30°C at the station, beating May 22, in 1992 (32.6°C). Normal high is 16°C. #NSwx

It’s been a cold spring in the eastern Arctic Canada. How cold? Nunavut just finished the coldest March-April since before 1950, edging out March-April 1964. There is no significant multi-decade trend. ERA5 data courtesy @copernicusecmwf.bsky.social. #Canada #Arctic #Climate @patwx.bsky.social

April 2026 was another cold month in most of Canada. Above-normal temps were observed in the Quebec City-Windsor corridor, and BC was overall near normal.

March 2026 was extremely cold across the territories and northern Ontario, Quebec and Labrador. The coldest month of the "winter" for many, and record-cold in Rankin Inlet, Churchill and Wabush. Meanwhile, Southern Ontario had a variable, but warm month.

February 2026 temperature anomalies across Canada. Overall warmer than normal, except Southern QC and ON and much of the territories. St. John's airport got its snowiest February on record (178 cm).

While January 2026 was a cold one in most of Ontario and Southern Quebec, warmer temperatures dominated elsewhere. Baffin Island and Ellesmere Island had their warmest January on record, with up to 11.4° above normal for Iqaluit - improving last year's record by more than a degree!

The northernmost station in Canada, Alert, climbed above freezing this morning to a high of 0.9°C! This is the warmest temperature recorded up there in January since records began in 1951. #Arctic Previous daily record: -13.8°C (2003) Previous January record: 0.0°C (1958)

For once, December 2025 was a cold month across most of Canada. Repeated events of extreme cold in Yukon brought monthly temperatures more than 13° below normal! Coldest December since 1980 for Whitehorse and Old Crow, and since 2013 for Yellowknife.

November 2025 was very warm overall in Canada, with record-breaking averages in some places. However, southern Ontario and Quebec managed to get below average temperatures. Most of Ontario and Quebec also had more snowfall than normal.

Eureka, Nunavut (NEK) hit -30.5°C in the past hour, making it the first -30° of the season in Canada, close to two weeks later than normal. The average date of first -30° in Eureka for 1991-2020 is Oct 21.

Canada had a very warm October, except in BC with near to slightly below seasonal temperatures. Record-warmest October for: Cambridge Bay -2.5° (previously -2.9 in 2021/2023) Churchill 4.7° (4.0 in 2021) Kuujjuaq 5.4° (3.8 in 2021) Nain 7.1° (5.3 in 2023) Wabush 4.9° (4.8 in 2022)

Several October records were broken today in Ontario and Québec, up to 31.7° in Luskville, QC (new provincial October record)! A few missed records: Ottawa 29.9° (1.0° from record of 2023) Quebec City 26.7° (1.6° from record of 1949) Moosonee 29.0° (1.0° from record of 2023)

September 2025 was warmer than normal everywhere in Canada. The strongest anomalies were in the Prairies and territories, and it was the hottest September on record in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton.

August 2025 was slightly warmer than normal overall in Canada. The warmest anomalies were observed in the Yukon, NWT, and Prairies. Meanwhile a few cold anomalies stand out in SW Ontario and parts of Nunavut.

Another all-time record was set today in Eastern Canada! 30.3° Havre-Saint-Pierre, QC (previously 30,0° 1987/07/14) 36.3° (prelim.) in Goose Bay: New August Labrador record! Very impressive 35.7° in Cartwright, too! August record for the station. #NLwx

Even hotter than yesterday in Eastern Canada! All-time records were set at several stations, and the all-time PEI record was shattered with 38.1° at Maple Plains! 36.7° in Badger, NL tied August record for NL and all-time record for the island. 38.6° in Miramichi is 0.8° below NB all-time record. ♨️

July 2025 was a mixed bag in #Canada. Generally hotter than normal in the east, but slightly cooler in many regions. Northern Nunavut had the coldest anomalies, between 1° and 2°C below the 1991-2020 average.

January 2025 was warm for most of Canada. Warmest on record for Kuujjuaq and Iqaluit with an almost +11°C anomaly. The month was colder than normal in Southern Ontario and SE BC, and near normal at the northernmost point.

Ottawa Airport peaked at a 105.04 kPa sea-level pressure this morning, setting a new all-time record for highest pressure reading. Previous was 105.00 kPa on Feb. 13, 1981. December records are also broken today in much of eastern ON and western QC, including Montreal and Quebec City.

Neige reçue au Québec depuis hier matin. Bilan final pour la majorité du sud/centre, bilan partiel dans l'est. Beaucoup de variation à travers le Grand Montréal, avec 5 cm à l'aéroport et 13 cm au centre-ville. Laurentides jusqu'à 30 cm, et plus de 30 cm dans Charlevoix et autour de Forestville.

November 2024 was very warm for most of #Canada, and even warmest November on record for some in the north. The Prairies flipped from very warm to very cold during the month, which resulted in a cooler than normal month in the western region. Fall 2024 map to be posted later in reply.

Very dry conditions in Central and Western Nova Scotia in the past 5 weeks. Since Oct 15, Yarmouth as only received 5.8 mm of rainfall; only 4% the normal amount (157 mm) for the same period. Halifax is also in a drought with 12% of normal rainfall. Rain is fortunately finally on the way! #NSwx

The blocking pattern in the east is keeping mild Atlantic air in a vast area of N/NE Canada. Highest lows on record for the 2nd half of November at several locations on Nov 18-19. More records could be set today again. #NUstorm #NLwx #meteoQC
