Well, that was one hell of a week. Spent an evening beside a dead body in the ER, then a week in the ICU and acute care ward. There, I got to be a bystander for not one but two Code Blue incidents as the next two patients to share a room with me both coded and got moved to more intensive teams. o.x

One of the most frustrating things to have to deal with being on a medical diet is finding all literature contradicts each other. Like every list out there contradicts another list out there, and few things remain common. Really hard to figure out if I am making a mistake or the food is the problem.

Well, last few months have been an absolute whirlwind. Trying to collect myself. I've had my main PC die, been dealing with harsh side effects and hospitalizations due to new medication reactions with my body and had a visit from wonderful @sneppermint.bsky.social to help pick up the pieces a bit.

Having the local SPCA start showing up in my feeds with pictures and stories about various creatures needing homes without warning is an act of violence against my poor heart. All of them are wonderful creatures who need good homes and happiness that I can't give them in my situation ;_;

It's amazing how one small event, one short visit, can make returning home feel foreign, unnatural, out of place. That the home returned to is not where one feels they belong, that it's missing a presence one only began to know, an emptiness that lingers, a quietness overlooked before now glaring.

A rather belated shout-out (sorry!) for the excellent job that @kippycube.bsky.social did on a character reference sheet. Kippy was a pleasure to work with, both patient and helpful throughout the whole process. I'd highly recommend them! 🦊

A character reference sheet for a bipedal humanoid fox character. It contains two three-quarter front-view poses and one three-quarter back-view pose along with two head busts. One head bust shows the character without accessories and hair, while the other shows the character with long shoulder-length brown hair and glasses. The first three-quarter front view shows the fur patterning of the character without clothing. The second three-quarter front view contains an example of clothing the character would be dressed in. You'd think an important stakeholder to keep in the loop when scheduling a medical procedure would be the patient. but far be it from me to tell healthcare professionals how to run things. Calling them at the start time of the procedure, and asking if they're still coming is certainly the way to go.

I am growing rather tired of the inconsistency of what causes symptoms and their scale. Also, the limbo of being in a state where you know your body is about to be angry, but not knowing how intense, in what form it will be, and for how long it will last is exhausting.
