A friend on Twitter asked why this was happening, so I asked Grok to explain. Here's Grok's response:

Screenshot text:
Why are people leaving x from bluesky?
People are leaving X (formerly known as Twitter) for Bluesky due to a variety of reasons:

1. **Increased Misinformation and Extremism**: There has been a noted increase in misinformation, far-right content, and hate speech on X since Elon Musk's takeover. This shift in the platform's atmosphere has driven users to seek alternatives like Bluesky, which offers a more regulated environment where hate speech and misinformation are more effectively managed. [](https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2024/nov/16/what-is-bluesky-and-why-are-so-many-people-suddenly-leaving-x-for-the-platform-elon-musk) [](https://9meters.com/entertainment/social-media/people-leaving-x-and-moving-over-to-bluesky-as-user-base-surges)

2. **Platform Features and User Experience**: Bluesky offers features like better moderation tools, including the ability to detach posts from quote posts to prevent harassment, and a "marketplace of algorithms" allowing users to customize their experience more than X does. Additionally, Bluesky's interface and functionality remind users of the original, more community-focused Twitter, which is appealing to those who miss that era. 3. **Political Atmosphere**: Elon Musk's alignment with Donald Trump during the 2024 election campaign and his subsequent role in Trump's administration has politicized X in a way that some users find unpalatable. Bluesky, by offering a space perceived as politically neutral or less influenced by these dynamics, attracts those looking for an escape from the partisan environment on X. Wait, but elmo said MG has "critical assets" for the AG role. I can't bring myself to quote what those assets are, though 🤣

This coming week I'm minting my first story. The Remnant is extremely special to me as I wrote + pitched it during my days working for LAIKA on Coraline- original story by @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com. LAIKA made Paranorman instead but sent me to film school to refine my storytelling...SO worth it.

mark of the musk. I'm going to start posting our older posts from else where to here for historical record.

A tweet from Tom Coates and Karl sad trombone noise enthusiast. Talking are lamenting about Musk removing media posted prior to 2014. This is erasing history.

The thumbnail we ended up using for the first episode of our new docuseries PROCESS came from b roll I shot of Raiden Gorby's FormLab. I then composited PROCESS in 3D into the shot with mo2 & FCPX. Lastly I added a slight gaussian blur to the text since the focus was soft on the prints. #art #oc
