When we delete Robo1/2 from the entire retina, we observed similar ectopic projections from additional AC subtypes. In summary, we propose that Slit-Robo regulation of dendrite stratification is important for ON- and OFF-pathway segregation within the retinal circuitry. 6/

Our results show that the dendrite stratifications of Gbx2+ ACs are controlled by Robo1/2 receptors. Gbx2 and Robo1/2 knockout retinas exhibit identical dendrite misprojections, where the stratifications in the ON-layers ectopically project to the OFF-layers in the retina. 5/
