August Ponthier’s latest record, EVERYWHERE ISN’T TEXAS, is my first favorite album of the year. It’s not country, it’s the whole galaxy - folk music with sci-fi influences, including Elvira and Vincent Price name drops. Trippy, honest, it’s great. Scratches Kacey and Sabrina itches.

Just finished Stephen King’s The Dark Half. Great premise (especially for King) and a strong start, but I think it fell victim to some of his long-winded and convoluted tendencies. I mean, the final chapter ends with the line, “Let’s get out of here.” Hm. Regardless, still a fun read.
