I am going to be obsessing over the 39 CD Bob Dylan 1976 live recordings release for months.

Shortcomings is one of the most overlooked movies of the past few years. Watch it and embrace what a POS Ben is. Truly one of contemporary cinema's most relatable characters. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

Last night I dreamt that Bob Dylan released a full-album cover of the Who's Tommy, arranged like the Shadow Kingdom and with spoken word interludes between the songs. It was a beautiful dream.

One of the benefits of the Odyssey coming out this summer, is it made me re-watch O Brother, Where Art Thou? Nolan's adaptation is well-made, but incredibly straightforward. The Coen's took chances, made something interesting, and also nailed the music. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

4.5 stars for O Brother, Where Art Thou?, 1.5 stars for Anaconda, 5 stars for Hunt For the Wilderpeople, 4 stars for In the Mouth of Madness.

I don't have anything to add to the Odyssey discourse other than I made it through without having to use the bathroom, which I wasn't able to do with Oppenheimer. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

Front cover of a graphic novel showing a person wearing a black top, blue shorts and brown shoes, hunched over a computer, white wearing a head set. His speech bubble reads "customer service Patrick Allaby"

The back cover of the same book with a person with a pony tail in a similar pose in the distance. Her speech bubble reads "Where dreams ger crushed one call at a time"

BUILDING A GAS PLANT IN A CLIMATE CRISIS

Like preheating the oven for dinner
when, just over your shoulder,
the house is in flames,
thinking: well, we still have to eat, don’t we?
Like breaking a bone
and digging out the band-aids.
Like tying yourself to the mast
when the boat is already sinking.
Like building a house in a floodplain—
well, we’ve done it before, haven’t we?
Like going for a skate
when the ice has started to thaw,
but you tell yourself it’s still early,
you tell yourself it’s still safe.
Stop and listen. Do you hear it?
That’s the ice breaking.
The seasons have changed.

Nearly gave Dead Man's Wire 4 stars. Room With a View is great, Spinal Tap 2 has like 2 good jokes in it, and walks up to a really darkly funny ending and then avoids it at the last second. Weird. Wanda made me want to make a movie. #letterboxdFriday #lastfourwatched
