A black cat lays on a rug with hisbfeint paws crossed. He has a good case of RBF even though he is bathed in pleasing rainbow coloured lights from the window. He is incredibly adorable.

Outside my window on this rainy Saturday, a young buck eats the freshly sprouted mushrooms growing from the rotting roots of the old tree, encouraged by the fresh moisture. #wildlife #whitetail
A young buck with four point antlers shows down on mushrooms in the front yard that grew overnight in the rain. He doesnt mind the rain at all.

I just finished Snow Falling on Cedars. I don't know why I waited so long to read this book. The writing is beautiful. The story is thought inducing. I love how the snowstorm becomes a character, as well developed as all the others. It is so good. #booksky #literaryfiction

Finished 'The Poppy War'. Very good book although I am not into fantasy. The beginning was better than the ending. I'm reading the second in the series now and 20% in it is still very dark and kinda hopeless. Hoping it gets better as it is not comfortable nighttime reading. 😲😶 #booksky #fantasy

3/3 Such a tenacious little plant. Today I found a volunteer growing in the winter killed grass along the sidewalk. There's several more around the yard as well. Tickled Pink forever! #petunias #gardening #prairiegarden #freeplants
A single bloom an a volunteer plant growing in the winter killed grass along a sidewalk. The tiny bloom is magenta in colour. A zoomed out view of the tiny plant bravely growing on the edge of a sidewalk, displaying its bright magenta colour. A potted display of several petunias and one zinnia. The magenta blooms are seeds grown from collected plants over the years and show the tenacity of the climbing variety as it takes over the genetics. The plants are full and have long stems. A climbing petunia in a pot grows up a wooden trellis. This is from a past year and shows one plant filling the trellis with many blooms in bright magenta.

We were away for a bit and it rained all the time we were gone. The weeds!!! in my gardens. I pulled some today. Those thistles have to be dug out, there is no just pulling them. I got a full bin of weeds from two beds! It looks better now but I'm sure I didn't get them all. #garden #weedcity
The full packed down bin of weeds from two flower beds. Many more to go! A view of a flower garden, relatively weed free, with lilies and a rosebush in bloom. Two gnomes stand guard enjoying a weeded garden of creeping jenny, swamp milkweed, lilies amd a pink rosebush. War wounds from saving my rowebush from the thistles that were taller than it was and nestled in amongst its roots. Two bleeding stab wounds from rose thorns and well worth it.

I was in the garden a couple days ago and smashed several no see ums that were biting me on various body parts. This is what I have today on my legs and arms, incredibly itchy, burning, blistering spots. Apparently I am allergic to something I can't avoid and can't really see! #allergies #noseeums

We had the weather last night! My rain guage said five inches. FIVE INCHES in twelve hours! Took a walk to the park to see what's up. There's some trees down and lots of leaves on the ground, but the frogs are okay. Grateful for no water in the basement! #thunderstorm #prairiestorm #assiniboinepark

Why do manufacturers think that because you choose sugar free in an effort to avoid the ridiculous amounts of sugar in your mix with your rye whisky, that you would rather have such a disgustingly sweet alternative that it makes your taste buds curl up and die? Why?? #sugarfreetoosweet #sugarfree

This is a nice surprise! Are these not Cosmo seedlings amongst the Creeping Jenny and various weeds? I grew some last year and made the rookie mistake of fertilizing them. They were taller than me and out of control. Annuals don't often self seed here, this is lovely! #cosmos #gardening #plantgift

Trying to get my phone to focus on how dirty the windows are after the dust, windstorm, and spotty rain today was an exercise. This is the best I got. All day the sky has been a weird colour and the rain that fell was full of dirt, not enough to clean the air it fell through. #climatechange #weather

Planted up some of my seedlings today and this year's crop is a bit of a bust. I mistakenly bought nine pak cells instead of six so the zinnias are already crowded. The petunias are sad, even my specialty ones that I paid money for have poor germination. Oh woe. #gardens #seedlings
A tray of 72 zinnia seedlings grown from collected seeds. A variety of sizes in too small cells haphazardly leaning in every direction.Zowie yellow flame zinnia seedlings on one end and Silver Cup lavatera on the other end of a plant tray. Back at the embroidery. I got a couple tshirts in colours I don't really like but were the best of bad options. So I dressed them up a bit. Tshirts stretch a lot and don't really lend themselves to loose stitches or dense designs. Oh well, it's all a learning experience! #embroidery #slowstitching
