Their universal hatred of trans persons just trying to live is maddening.

These pathetic people are one trick ponies. All they can do is try to rile up people to hate immigrants and trans people. They are the cancer on America

This is true. The irony is social conservatism didnt allow them freedom, acceptance in a new country, a right to vote, or equality under the law. And its social conservatism that still views minorities as the other

It’s almost like no one was required to do that. I don’t like putting Christmas lights up…perhaps I should vote on that since my neighbors do.

It should be. But there are too many people that are for this. And so many more with their heads in the sand, so long as they’re not impacted and football games are on.

Markets can be an effective tool, though they don’t always work, are rarely efficient, and often need government protection and investment to bring worthwhile products to the public

By focused, you mean gerrymandered to such a degree they don’t need majorities to win and representation isn’t proportional to actual votes

patm2345.bsky.social @patm2345.bsky.social · 01/08/2026
You left out a few things: rigged a Supreme Court seat, aggressively gerrymandered state and federal house seats so aggressively they can win with a minority of the vote, failed to convict Trump, and embraced a complete forfeiture of reality.

It’s maddening how all democrats have to answer for a few, all while there have been zero consequences to/for MAGA and GOP for a decade. The both sides bullshit gets so old. We had to listen to MAGA to understand “real America” but anyone that wants universal healthcare is a Stalin sympathizer 🤯

Reagan was the face of “government is bad” and “let’s have the markets handle everything and watch the spoils trickle down.” The entire country embraced this BS. He wasn’t governing Mass, but there is a direct line from there to his policies

There are millions of people that work their asses off to scrape by. Had they had the best teachers & private tutors, access to mental health care, a favor called in for their first job, no student debt & a gifted down pmt on their home, Id wager theyd be better off with little of their own volition

part of the problem? Im thinking not. As a kid who went to 18 schools, was on food stmps & Medicaid, homeless at times, lost an alcoholic parent at 12, I have 2 degrees and a top 5% income. I know how hard it was & how 1 misstep w/ no support system couldve been catastrophic to future well-being.

I’m contending the right parents make ones path much more navigable. Data absolutely supports that on average a child from a family with income in the 75 percentile will fare much better as an adult than a child from a family in the 25 percentile of income. Again, delusional to pretend otherwise

It’s delusional to think the right parents don’t start someone off 40 yards ahead in the 100 yard dash. Can/do people win that race from the 0 yard line occasionally? Sure. But it’s the exception.

Perhaps true. Or perhaps one of the enduring legacies of Reaganism is its ability to make the population fall for the bs that trickle down works, all government is bad, and dem plans are socialism, thereby rendering any attempt to undo Reaganism a poison pill.

Can’t stand the guy and think he’s a fascist. But I also think this is taken out of context. He’s saying he believes he’s allowed to destroy the (other) country but isn’t allowed to use tariffs. And in his mind, it doesn’t make sense

I truly don’t understand how they say this shit with a straight face. 42% of Texas voted for Harris, but they are only going to give dems 20% of seats. If they could’ve figured out how to do less, they would’ve.

Tough lesson for some of us. Also a grim and small pleasure to see some sane conservatives witness their side weaponizing the government after being told for decades the liberals were coming for you.
