I know Astarion fans can be very, very annoying, but I've read the ARC and the book does suck. Ignoring people's weird issues with sex, it's a low-plot slog in which every serious moment is undercut by terrible MCU humor, with characters seemingly engineered in a lab to be as bland as possible.
