Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 29/07/2026I read this in the Polish original and absolutely loved it! Hope you enjoy it too (although it is dark). 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 20/07/2026I read this last month and loved it! This was my first Bainbridge but won't be the last! 120
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I like Clozemaster, for vocabulary building. Free version allows only for 30 sentences a day, but I find it sufficient, and with two languages (which I do) it adds up to 60. They have both French and Irish, and you can start at different levels! 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 06/07/2026That’s my library! I work in a room (almost) next door. 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 02/07/2026Spent yesterday evening at London Review Bookshop listening to wonderful conversation between Emily LaBarge and Sara Baume. Got both their books, can’t wait to read them! 040
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 19/05/2026I read the interview in the Polish original, and it’s truly painful to read. Tokarczuk is a cofounder of a company that uses AI to make RPG games, and got a massive donation from the Polish government, so in this light her enthusiasm for AI surprises less… 141
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 18/04/2026I have the same edition! And must admit, it took me two attempts before I got on with it - after a while, I was glad I persevered. 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 26/03/2026Amber grew so big! Still a baby though. And Ginzburg is excellent! 070
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 17/01/2026Finished Perec’s ‘Life. A User’s Manual’, which I enjoyed but took way too long to read, and now onto @joannapocock.bsky.social latest, which I’m very excited about! 130
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 07/12/2025Amber in her onesie (yes, she hates it with all her might) 030
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 14/07/2025Please, don’t bother me unless you come with treats! 020
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 22/01/2025Went to listen to Anne Carson on boxing, Cy Twombly and how to draw a line that’s not stupid. 030
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 16/12/2024Currently reading. Rare occasion when I was tempted by a hardcover edition - I’m happy with the content so far but not happy with the mark left by a promotional sticker… 040
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 05/12/2024I agree about the coherence! The setting, the photography in this film is just utterly beautiful, and I love the quietness too. 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 05/12/2024I saw it in September and was thinking about what my film of the year would be, and came to the same conclusion! 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Saturday morning. The Idiot started well, now halfway through it feels a bit flat but I think purposefully so, and hope it will all come together in the end. 020
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 20/10/2024I’ve read it and I loved it, and I think it would be a good entry point. Didn’t like Nunez’s The Friend that much but I liked her memoir of Susan Sontag, so decided to give her another chance with What Are You Going Through and I’m so glad I did. 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 18/10/2024There is a bug on this bookshelf that holds so much fascination for her! 010
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 01/10/2024Two weeks ago I adopted a cat. Here she is watching me work, from a safe distance, but she’s been spending most of the time underneath the sofa. I feel like a kidnapper waiting for Stockholm syndrome to kick in… 010

Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 01/04/2024I hated Storygraph, the way it counted books, the way it defined them by their moods, and how many titles were missing or incorrectly added and there was nothing to do about it. Left it for Goodreads 🤷🏼♀️ 110
Patrycja Barczynska @patekb.bsky.social · 29/10/2023Attended a talk with Teju Cole this afternoon, and let me tell you, he was wonderful! 170
