Open zone in Frontiers was basically an expansion of the adventure fields idea from Sonic Adventure and that was awesome to me. They should keep doing that but with better levels to find

OoT remake having all the old npcs with updated designs really reinforces for me how fun it was to have them in all different shapes and sizes

020

Patchomatic @patchomatic.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

my nintendo take for today: theyre not making their npcs weird enough. every single last npc in twilight princess was a FREAK. the generic mii maker style npcs do not feel right

Hmm... This might be true of a younger Ganondorf but Wind Waker Ganondorf does find beauty in the world, and also has to contend with what the gods did to it and how they did it because he almost won. That game makes it so you can empathize with the character just a little

I genuinely don't understand people getting excited about their character being in the game. Gwenpool hasnt had a good book in years but at least she featured in a season of fortnite haha right 😪

I had a bad feeling about the Wolverine game as soon as it was confirmed NOT Steve Blum doing the voice. That man is Wolverine to me. Insomniac knew to put Yuri Lowenthal into the role of Spider-Man cause he's really him

It's weird being a kid who grew up in America decades ago and missing being... advertised to 😂. Like oh boy I miss cereal mascots and TV commercials and browser games. Marketing has lost its whimsy. But also it's more obviously manipulative now

BUT I need to get over it because I'm super curious about the new dialogue, new music, and reinterpretations of the dungeons. Visually strongest themed dungeon design from Zelda in a while!! They've expanded on the design of so much stuff that it's kind of crazy.

and it still just feels "wrong" to me, with how I've grown up on the original Yusuke Nakano style designs and I have a very personal connection to that look via Melee and Soul Calibur 2 and the 3DS version of OoT

I think that Japanese beauty standards shifting explain some things about Link's design changes like the hairline shifting (you actually see that on Zelda and Ganondorf too)... but I still don't love the tunic or hat

Now that a day has passed I’m a little more into the OoT remake. Past the initial shock of how Link looks, I like literally everything else about it

There's been a lot of misinformation going around about Age of Calamity, people saying you can't upgrade to Definitive Edition if you have the physical version. You actually CAN, and it says how on the website.

Not a big deal with Dual Override really, because the classic games are always simple, but what about the other series' stories?

000

Patchomatic @patchomatic.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I feel like Capcom wanting to make Mega Man accessible is the opposite of what some Mega Man fans want. Hardcore Mega Man fans looove the interconnectivity of the story and how massive in scope the timeline and lore are, but does Capcom want to make a game that is really a part of that?

genuinely infuriating being a small creator and being inundated with bots and scammers and generally dishonest people entering my stream and trying to exploit me when im casually drawing or playing a game. hate it so much. But it does make it feel that much better when a real human stranger comes by
