Okay, forgot one really last thing. According to Google Maps, I traveled at least 27 miles. My phone claims I walked 10 of those, and I got 23,500ish steps during the journey.

And lastly because I think it's funny, I managed to play three different generations of Star Trek machines in reverse chronological order on Saturday:
Star Trek: The Reboot pinball machine. At Jupiter Bar in Belltown.Star Trek: The Next Generation pinball machine. At B4s in Frelard.Star Trek: The Original Series pinball machine. At Add-a-Ball in Fremont.

My score on the left, shockingly.

It was a little annoying to carry--ended up causing my zipper to chafe me a bit, being in my breast pocket--but totally worth it. My phone ran down a few times, but the external battery was still close to full. Prolly need to replace the phone's internal battery.
Anker branded magnetic phone battery.

Here's how Jupiter's Adams Family sounds when you enter a mansion room. Also, it's really hard to record pinball one handed. Would've loved to show off the train noise, cause it's hilarious, but that's not as easy as backhanding the electric chair scoop.

Took a few tries, but I met up with a friend and played a few games till one of us hit the replay. Plays nice, mostly.

Made it to Add-a-Ball. What they lack in signage, they make up in murals too. I’ll post more of the art here at the end of the thread.

So I played a bit of Theater of Magic and Twilight Zone, at least keeping around the year Adam’s Family was released. Both seem to play well, but I don’t know ToM all that well beyond hitting the cube. At least Twilight Zone has The Power and GREED. Some overlap with Adams Family. One last stop.

Sadly, the Adam’s Family was out of order. According to the bartender, it’s a board issue. Something about an NPU, but I may have misheard him or he may have misunderstood the pinball repairing dude.

It’s really more of a pool spot. They’ve got pinball and Killer Queen though.

Made it to 4Bs. Not sure if it stands for something, but they have great murals

Played a bit of disappointing Black Knight Sword of Rage. Was too worried about missing the bus to play well. At Least that’s my John. Anyway... Freelard ho!

Stopped at the Ballard Smoke Shop which, to the disappointment of the dude walking next to me, does not sell vape juice. It’s a nautical bar and pinball spot.

Was pretty dang packed and warm in there. Machine played fine, but had clearly been through a lot. Couldn’t read the Thing Flips or 2x Bear Kicks windows, not to mention the mansion windows. Couple playing Monster Bash next to me were playing his, hers and split flip over three players. was cute.

But the bus I needed was showing up in five minutes. The next one was forty minutes out. I think I made the right choice. Ballard ho!

Hate to say it, but this is the first one I’m phoning in. Played a game poorly. Played another to test the major shots. Seems like a fine machine in decent shape…

Caught up a bit on this thread and played a wee bit of Black Knight 2000. They’ve dropped the volume a bit since the last time I was here. Prolly for the best. Still have a Foo Fighters high score up from a while ago. Now to the Space Needle!

It’s got one of the oddest entryways of any bar I’ve ever seen.

Took a little detour to Just the Tap. It’s a self service bar with pinball and stuff.

I think some of this plastic might be new. Had a couple shots up the middle ramp fizzle in a weird way.

Last week I catapulted a ball outside the playfield and lost it. This week, I got a new PB. Even if 20 mil of it is from Cousin It’s assorted sundries. Machine plays and sounds great.

Then headed to Shorty’s: the other clown themed pinball bar. I don’t mind this one’s theme as much. Maybe it’s the lighting.

Had to play a game or two of Embryon. Didn’t do amazingly, but also didn’t crash the machine or get a ball stuck like the last couple of visits.

Adam’s Family plays fine, but the audio is really weirdly pitched. I got some video of it, but I don’t know how to edit on mobile.

Also played the Black Knight: Sword of Rage premium. Did well, but most of that comes down to some switch being broken. Frequently when shoving the machine to keep the ball on the upper playfield, it’d just give me all the Catapult Multiball locks. I only hit that shot once.

patcdr @patcdr.net · 27/09/2026
Unfortunately, The Adam’s Family doesn’t play well. Something seems off with the shots. Backhanding the electric chair scoop has much higher variance than expected. Even when you hit the scoop, it’ll most likely kick straight down the center. Definitely needs a tuneup.

It’s not as bad as I remembered, but I was last here ten years ago doing a Puzzled Pint and trying to solve poetry. Still not a big fan of traveling carnival aesthetics.

The flippers are strong, but there is some stickage. Prolly needs a little love.

patcdr @patcdr.net · 27/09/2026
Wasn’t there long. Machine had two credits on it. Earned an extra and kinda just goofed around. It’s running the Gold code, so it’s pretty easy to crack 50 millionish you need for replay. It’s also the only one I’ve seen with extra ball buy-in. Not a fan.

Was told by a friend that the Godzilla here was the best in the city. Played one ball of a leftover game and can’t disagree. That left ramp was just humming.

The other building‘s got some cool stuff like Wacca Reverse. Had to play a Touhou song or two. Played The X Files machine. It’s and interesting theme, and I love that you can backhand the FBI.

patcdr @patcdr.net · 27/09/2026
The Adams Family here plays great. Easy bear kicks from both flippers. Standard code. Costs three credits, I think. Not sure the conversion rate to quarters
Adam’s Family again.

Adams Family is in the more kid oriented half. Lots of ticket games here. But still has a few good machines standing against the wall.
Mario, Jurassic Park, The Adam’s Family and Twilight Zone pinball machines.

Made it to West Seattle! It’s a pretty long bus ride, but I got lucky with the connection from the light rail. Thank goodness my knee is feeling better. West Seattle Arcade is a weird spot because it’s really two spots a block away from each other.

Almost rolled Wizard. It’s kinda funny there’s a 1970s machine themed around The Who’s own Pinball Wizard. Anyway. Off to West Seattle now.
