I am not in the affected group so I won’t speak for anyone else, but I could understand why you might reject the shovel to shovel your own grave to thwart the excavator. yeah, the excavator is faster and more cruel, but the alternative is still working on shoveling your own grave.

With Platner the argument was that it was all known at the primary and he won it and you just have to accept that and vote for him! But that argument doesn’t work when they change their tune after the primary. a candidate doesn’t have a divine right to votes of a party because they won the primary

I don’t know about shortsighted. Look at the UK. Flaky Labour Party MPs (which should be allies if the LGBTQ community) have conjured the worst situation for trans people in their country in decades. This will give the Tories/Reform even more permission for cruelty going forward.
