Everyone is worried this week about Dungeon XP & instance grinding in WoW Forever, but I think the Boosting issue is getting left to the side now. Dungeon grinding should not be the clear levelling meta. If it were merely comparable with Questing then OK, but there have to be other solutions.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your recipe calls for half & half cream, you can also just use a 50/50 mix of 18% cream with 2% milk 50/50 to the required volume and it just works. (Even skim would be close enough!)

Lots of WoW discourse between “Classic players” & “Retail Players” on here lately, and can I just say, the WoW community has been like this…FOREVER! Before Classic there was bickering; heck, back in Wrath there was bickering. Forever just gave us more stuff to bicker about!

The pace of the WoW: Forever Roadmap is a shortcut to player burnout. Slower releases leave room for creativity & exploration; faster releases create expectations that can't be met, and resentment against the system that won't let them catch their breath. www.youtube.com/shorts/NqPB1...

Sorry no stream today as there’s more construction. Odds are better for tomorrow once it’s just mudding the drywall to close it up.

LOTS of folks are enjoying the WoW: Forever beta. It does look awesome and the prospect of playing a uniquely new Vanilla context is truly exciting, BUT, there are still important missteps Blizzard needs to avoid to make this a truly long-lasting property: youtube.com/shorts/SD2Sf...

Design philosophy and even things as small as release cadence matter. Deadlines are not as important, usually, as getting it right, but especially with something that is supposed to evoke the nostalgia and design philosophy of 2004. youtube.com/shorts/ucntm...

I’m not in the beta, but I am cautiously optimistic about WoW: Forever (very cautiously). There are more than a few reasons for the caution, but here’s a summary of one: youtube.com/shorts/IrKbI... The pace of releases is already overwhelming, just like on Retail IMO.

Having serious reservations about WoW Forever despite seeing some good things too. Incentivizing Alts so heavily and the breakneck content release schedule really threaten the exploration and social aspects IMO. So far it feels more like Retail than I’m really comfortable with.

010

PastorDavePlays @pastordaveplays.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Managed to watch Blizzcon opening ceremonies after work last night. Now that I’ve slept on it (and back at work for another 12 hours), I realize few Blizzcon openers have had that much new stuff to show. Some of it is a long ways out, but the promise is there. Time will tell! Cautiously optimistic!

010

PastorDavePlays @pastordaveplays.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

Well I am stuck at work until 7pm tonight so I have to decide if I’m going to hide from all the Blizzcon news until I got home and then catch the VOD’s for the hype, or try to piece it all together from posts on socials. Is this what they call “meaningful choices”??

110

PastorDavePlays @pastordaveplays.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

That’s less than $25 CAD for everything: Survival, Tales DLC, and WINTERMUTE story mode. And still less than $30 if you include the atmospheric sound track! Can’t stress enough how great (and unique) a game it is!

021

PastorDavePlays @pastordaveplays.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

Transitioning from Retail (Midnight/Last Titan) into some kind of WoW2 would be the single biggest brand fail since Twitter got renamed, and akin to “New Coke” in its failure to understand the MMO market.

Had one of *those* dreams last night. You know, the ones that you are convinced really happened even after waking up. Dreamed that my non-Hardcore Hunter died and somehow still got deleted. He's like level 12 so it's silly, but for a few minutes I was still all sad about it!

Well, got off a 90+ min call to my dad tonight, which was great, only to find out we had water in the basement from the storm last night. The partially already renovated basement we’ve been working on for the past couple months. Which I just finished painting all the new drywall.
