I was talking about "cochon d'Inde". The Guinea Pig. Hypothesis suggests the "guinea" in the name is a corruption of "Guiana", an area in South America. William Harvey, an English physician, used the term "Ginny-pig" as early as 1653.
I love the name Ginny-Pig. A good idea for my new name haha. 😁🐽
