I’ve taken a long look at this. I first thought it was one of these key rings given away by Mobil in France in 1966. However, I think it’s some kind of lucky charm. In some photos it looks like a red glass ball encased in a sort of string basket. It was on his guitar on every date of that tour.

Here in Austria, skiing on TV is associated with Saturday lunchtime. But for us in the UK this was the sound of Sunday teatime. It’s ‘Pop Looks Bach’ by Sam Fonteyn and the New Dance Orchestra recorded from an original and overloaded BBC cassette.
