Paradise Systems will be tabling at Small Press Expo this weekend September 12–13! We will be selling our anthology as well as other books we just published! Come say hi at Table H9 👋🏼

A drawing of our table showing an assortment of Paradise Systems books spread and propped up across a bright yellow tablecloth. Above the table is a poster for SPX, and there’s a bit of text next to it that says “SEE YOU AT SPX!” Hanging in front of the table are extra details: “September 12 & 13, 2006, Bethesda North Marriott
Hotel & Conference Center, Table H9.” All of this is set on top of Yan Cong's Illustration of a night sky over grassland that also appears on the cover of Narrative Addiction 14.

We are down to the final hours of the kickstarter for our anthology SYSTEM 01: Hot Net Hotel! Here is the amazing cover, with an illustration by Mojo Wang @mojowang.bsky.social . We are such huge fans of Mojo's work, and thank you again to Patrick Crotty for laying out the cover.

The cover features a swarm of fish (joined by a few crustaceans) all moving together to the right, their giant eyes dotted across the page. Behind them is a grid, accepted by a few gradient boxes housing the title.

NEW MANGA AVAILABLE! 🦇 Haze Cave by Pigao 💜 Custom-free and with FREE shipping! 🇪🇺 Affordable shipping elsewhere 🇦🇺 Format: 80 pages, A5 size From @paradisesystems.bsky.social 📯 sendaibooks.eu/haze

Haze Cave is a semi-autobiographical story by Hangzhou-based cartoonist and publisher Pigao. Broken into two related stories, the first half finds the artist struggling with rent and displacement on the outskirts of Beijing. In the second half, Pigao attempts to return to a place from her past, only to find her memories lead her deeper into mysteries she cannot resolve. Throughout the book, Pigao’s fine pencil work and restrained palette beautifully capture a moment of transition and upheaval.

The characters in fenta's work are moved by emotions that they cannot express or fully comprehend. These three vignettes each revolve around something that seems to be just out of reach, but vital.
This book is part of Paradise Systems' series of contemporary lianhuanhua.
fenta is a cartoonist and artist based in Beijing. His two central series of work are Afu and Bad Boy Diaries. His comics address the relationships with oneself, with others, and with life.
