fixed a zipper on my backpack by pulling out a bit of plastic wrapper that had lodged itself in there! took me half an hour with two pliers and a needle. look at the size of that thing - it was fully contained within the zipper closing mechanism

an open backpack and my hand holding up a piece of frayed packaging with a pair of pliers. it's almost as big as the zipper slider itself

saw some beautiful mushroom logs today

Faltenbalg- und Gummiwulstübergänge von freizügig einsetzbaren Reisezugwagen sind nach UIC 561 genormt, damit international eingesetzte Wagen miteinander gekuppelt werden können. Für das Verbinden mit Faltenbälgen wurden Gummiwulstübergänge mit zwei seitlichen Spannfedern ausgerüstet. Seitdem Reisezugwagen mit Faltenbalgübergängen bedeutungslos geworden sind, werden sie wieder aus- und bei Neubauwagen nicht mehr eingebaut. Bei in der Regel zusammenbleibenden Fahrzeugen, insbesondere innerhalb von Triebzügen, werden Wellen- und Faltenbälge wegen des besseren Komforts (Druckertüchtigung, Schallisolierung) verwendet.
