Been replaying Wander Stars by @papercastlegames.com and I wanted to draw the final boss. . . But that would be a massive spoiler so I went with the cute cactus girl with spiked knuckles. #fanart #indiegamefanart

Excited to share my interview w/ Wander Stars developers @papercastlegames.com! The team discussed the word-based combat system, Latin America's special relationship with DBZ and anime generally, and what it was like releasing "gay Dragon Ball" in 2025. Give it a read! exalclaw.com/2025/11/18/p...

As a fantastic homage to classic fighting anime #WanderStars should be on many of our radars. 🥊 It's fun, it's funny, and it got a lot of heart – but it's also got that confident fighting spirit to win you over! Review: www.rpgfan.com/review/wande... @papercastlegames.com @fellowtraveller.games

For players who grew up loving ’90s anime, or those fascinated by experimental turn-based mechanics in RPGs, Wander Stars is worth experiencing. With a sharp aesthetic and a serialized story structure, it feels distinctly vintage. Our review: www.rpgsite.net/review/18547-wander…

Wander Stars is a beautiful love letter to 90's anime in video game form. It's a story of adventure, mystery, and humor that plays out in episodes very much like an anime. All of the characters are fantastic in their own way, and I especially love the chemistry between Ringo and Wolfe. (1/5)

As for in-engine Unity stuff we really just used basic camera post processing, nothing fancier than that. The 2D sprites do most of the heavy lifting!

Thank you so much! Your mockups look incredibly clean, excellent work 🔥 In our case, to achieve the look for WS we focused on the colors and line art of the sprites themselves. We applied limitations similar to how cel animation was done back in the day. Tiny scratches or mistakes left purposely.
