The first boardgame arrival of the season. One of the smaller Kickstarter bundles for a boardgame I've purchased but the theme is everything. Now to get some card sleeves and figure out how I'm going to paint the minis. Good thing is that shipping to NZ was painless. #boardgaming #cyberpunk2077

New Zealand is the last stop for Container ships and given the realities of scale, being this small at the butt end of the world trading routes means we incur cost that major producers do not, such as unladen or empty cargo space. I use the picture below as a visual guide (a little hyperbolic but..)

Today's win (albeit at a price well over the odds) was a very good condition Swift Whip egg beater (of the same type that doubled as a machine gun in my childhood). This recreation of a 1960s/1970s NZ kitchen is getting expensive #kikorangi #retro #gallopinggourmet

I'll have to order it from the manufacturer so adding $300 for shipping which takes over the 4K mark which is still way cheaper than any other 500W e-bike available locally. I could get a T20R (750Watt) from Kiwi Hoverboard for $3K but it doesn't have the front basket

I think I've found the perfect Ebike 🛴NZ 500W motor, 20AH Battery, Hydraulic discs, front and rear storage and nice fat (10cm) tyres . Also less than $3K so I don't feel I'm paying some trendy hipster tax like most of the overpriced, underpowered eBikes in Wgtn. Hills anyone? #kikorangi

The two constants in my kitchen life (not including cookbooks) have been a 1960s era duck egg blue Kenwood Chef and a beam balance kitchen scales. I grabbed the first a couple of weeks ago and now I have the latter. #retro #kikorangi #baking #classiccooking

Ever since the USPS dropped out of the internatonal agreement on shipping afew years back, P&H from the US has been expensive. Once you add in the increased demand and dramatically decreased supply worldwide since 2020 - shipping to NZ reflects this reality: A whole lot of nothing
