🚨BREAKING🚨 The Minnesota Attorney General and Hennepin County Attorney just announced state criminal charges against an ICE agent stemming from the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis on January 14th in North Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge. A nationwide arrest warrant has been issued.

Today, the Hennepin County Attorney and Minnesota Attorney General announced state criminal charges against an ICE agent stemming from the shooting of Julio Sosa-Celis on January 14th in North Minneapolis during Operation Metro Surge.

The ICE agent is now charged in Hennepin County District Court with four counts of Second-Degree Assault and one count of falsely reporting a crime. There is now a nationwide warrant for the ICE agent’s arrest.

I commend the Attorney General and County Attorney for their courage and leadership at this critical moment. At a time when too many people in power are unwilling to stand up to the brazen lawlessness of the federal government, they have made one principle unmistakably clear: no one is above the law — not Donald Trump, and not his federal agents.

Minnesotans deserve transparency and equal protection under the law. When Trump’s masked federal agents violate our laws and terrorize our communities, they must be held accountable. The rule of law means nothing if it applies only to some.

This commitment to accountability cannot end with this November’s election. As the next County Attorney, I will vigorously prosecute federal agents who violated Minnesota law.

We will secure convictions and send a clear message to Trump and his agents across the country that no person is above the law.
