Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Mythos is actually a Greek restaurant in CDMX's Condesa neighborhood, hope that helps, thanks & you're welcome 000

Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 29/08/2023March 29, 2023: Tlayuda post-script: While the food court is great it’s also geared to tourists (bilingual menus). In fact my favorite tlayuda place was in the Mercado Benito Juárez itself. La Torta Gigante serves market workers; the food is simple, no-frills, and you get a front-row seat. A+ 🍜 020
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 24/08/2023April 20, 2023: Finally settled on Chabelita as the queen of tlayudas at the mercado, which should’ve been obvious since it’s one of the most crowded spots. Absolutely perfect balance of flavors, and was lucky enough that the agua fresca del día was jamaica, which is Mexican for hibiscus. 🍜 220
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 23/08/2023April 17, 2023: I went through a number of the vendors at the Mercado 20. de Noviembre, sampling their tlayudas. To ensure accuracy, I always got the ‘especial’, so I could sample each vendor’s choice of tasajo, cecina and chorizo. 🍜 120
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 20/08/2023April 15, 2023: Getting into some tlayuda action at Oaxaca’s Mercado 20. de Noviembre. 🍜 170
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 18/08/2023April 15, 2023: Time for tlayudas. This imposing tower of tortillas – crispy, when used for tlayudas – is how they stack ‘em at the Mercado 20 de Noviembre, which is the sort-of food court on the south side of the Mercado Benito Juárez. 🍜 080
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 15/08/202311 April, 2023: A few more Oaxaca pics. Decided to follow up the aguachile at Humar with this absolutely lovely tostada de pulpo. No regrets. 🍜 150
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 20/06/202311 April, 2023: Aguachile explorations continue, this time at Humar. Not as good as Taco Sireno but still a solid effort, which was made up for the fact that Humar was just a few steps from where I was staying, and has an absolutely lovely roof space. 140
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 13/06/2023Still at Taco Sirena, I was riding high from the aguachile and couldn’t resist getting a trio of fish tacos, Baja style. Blue corn tortillas were a definite plus. 000
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 09/06/20238 April, 2023: Getting down with my first aguachile experience, here at Taco Sirena. If you’re a fan of a ceviche, aguachile is, like, the next level. While it’s traditionally from Sinaloa, Oaxaca does an absolutely bang-up job. 100
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 01/06/20234 April, 2023: Oaxaca’s juice game is on point; pretty much any juice joint will get you the goods. Here the green juice features nopal, and has a refreshing tinge of bitterness to it. The red juice is your standard orange-beet-carrot, but I definitely recommend subbing grapefruit for the orange. 120
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 22/05/20234 April, 2023: Got my proper Oaxaca breakfast on at Chepiche Cafe. Although the food was somewhat ‘gringo’ the deployment of hoja santa in this dish was superb. Also A+ coffee. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 18/05/202329 March, 2023: The tlayuda especial at La Torta Gigante is the working man’s tlayuda. Made deep inside the Mercado Benito Juárez, it’s jammed with everything you need to keep you going for the day. I ate here 3-4 times because I dug how they were a part of the internal working of the market itself. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 16/05/202327 March, 2023: First night in Oaxaca and my first encounter with a tlayuda, here at Tlayudas El Negro. Many more tlayudas would enter my life in the following weeks but this one remains unique for its inclusion of chepiche herbs. 110
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 15/05/202327 March, 2023: Last day in CDMX and before I dashed off to the airport I had to stop into Tierra Garat for one last hot chocolate. It’s a chain but the Chocolate Criollo is solid af. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 11/05/202325 March, 2023: Another good thing about CDMX is, if you’re ever caught in a surprise thunderstorm, there’s almost always a taqueria within a few meters that will provide you shelter. And tacos. Here’s the al pastor fiver from La Torta Brava, just off the Zócalo. 000
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 10/05/202317 March, 2023: Styles were absolutely peaking at Merotoro. If you’re in CDMX and want to splash out this is a great spot in which to do it. Sorry for the crappy pics but really no photography can do justice to how good this food is. 000
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 07/05/202312 March, 2023: Stopped into a small shop in San Miguel de Chapultepec and picked up these two gems: Cara a Cara is probably my favorite mezcal from this trip, and making a spritz with this Uruguayan Pet-Nat was another way of saying ‘winning’. 000
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 06/05/202319 March, 2023: Fish (Baja style) & shrimp tacos at El Pescadito. People rate this joint extremely highly but to me it was rather fast-foody. Still, cheap and filling gets you two sides of the triangle. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 05/05/202314 March, 2023: Next-level tacos at El Parnita in Roma Norte, followed by a spring-y salad, because you can’t eat tacos *all* the time. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 04/05/202313 March, 2023: Tacos Orinoco, home of the Gringa Tacos. Also their sauce game is seriously on point. 010
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 03/05/2023March 12, 2023: Taqueria Las Rejas is a sidewalk joint just down from the bus station next to Bosque del Chapultepec. 65 pesos gets you 5 tacos al pastor. 000
Misha @panoptic.bsky.social · 03/05/2023March 10, 2023: Kicked off a few weeks in CDMX with tacos at Las Costillas de la Condesa. Cheap, delicious and open until 1am, #hellyeahtacos 000
