One final coast path walk in #Penwith with @somersewist via Pendeen Lighthouse, Portheras Cove and St Bridget’s in Morvah. Morvah used to host the largest Lughnasadh celebrations outside of Ireland. These days they celebrate Pasty Day instead.

Went to view the eclipse from #carngloose together with a sizeable bunch of other skywatchers. The smoke from the terrible wildfire at Chapel Carn Brea was still very much evident, which gave us a few evenings of spectacular sunsets. #Cornwall #eclipse

Love these little life history reminders - wonder how long ago it was I bought this in Catapilla Records in Exeter? Early nineties I assume. #recordshop

Sunn O))) in Bristol. I think this is my eleventh time in 22 years. I’m still enthralled and exhilarated every time.

Went for a #slowways walk across the levels with @somersewist from Wedmore to Axbridge. It was a bit overcast and drizzly for a while, but still a great walk with fabulous views. It was a shame to miss out on the Trotters Inn - apparently unchanged for over 100 years. #walking #somerset

Went see Reuben’s Daughter and Kavus Torabi at the wonderful Rondo Threatre in Bath. Fabulous evening.

Short walk in #themendips yesterday morning, in the blessedly cooler weather. From King’s Wood up to Crook Peak and back. Glorious views - I think this might become a regular. #walking

Along the way I visited the fascinating church of St. Arilda in Oldbury on Severn (of which more in another post).

A few days ago I walked a very hot 13 miles from Thornbury to Severn Beach, via the Severn Way. It’s a beautiful stretch, both bridges are stunning in my opinion. I really did get very hot though, and an ice cream at the end was essential. #walking #gloucestershire #riversevern

Off to Yelverton to do a #busandback @slowwaysuk.bsky.social walk to Plymouth. Based on the 5 star reviews i’m expecting great things!

I’ve struggled to get motivated to walk this year but i dragged myself out in the rain today for some #slowways from Hambrook to Bradley Stoke and then on to Filton. I intended to walk back into Bristol, but i was wet through by then (and muddy from an slip onto my arse) #walking #rain #bristol

“Jesus is shown with his head to one side (the convention is for the head to hang to the ‘good’ right), and he is shown as having just died”. Less intriguing than your quote i think!

Yes! Planning to walk from Calstock to Yelverton via the Calstock Ferry (calsyel two). I wanted to walk it over Christmas, but ran out of time - so fingers crossed to this weekend.

The old chocolate factory in Keynsham. It feels strange to say that since it’s closure is so recent in my memory. Surely only a couple of years ago? #keynsham #chocolate

St Mary’s Church in Chesterblade, with Chesterblade Cross in the grounds. A really lovely place.

I was worried about this section as I thought the footpath wouldn’t be well used - I was wrong.

Off to walk a #slowway between Shepton Mallet and Bruton this morning. It’s my own route because I know there are some issues with the existing one. I’ll share some photos as I go along.

Finally here. Not quite sure what my plans are. Sharing walking, reading and listening thoughts I imagine.
