So many truths are being drowned out around the globe and for the life of me I don’t know how we get to the point where facts can dominate the conversation. Or if they ever really have.

I like thanking AI. Then it said this. "You're welcome! I hope that helps you navigate the conversation more effectively. Remember, it's perfectly fine to set boundaries and disengage if the discussion becomes unproductive or uncomfortable."

Operation Save My Spoons underway. I put my MAGA cousin's raging rant into Gemini and asked for a polite way to respond. The first paragraph is really validating. 10/10 going to keep using this.

Please don't compromise your bandwidth to deal with Devil's Advocate friends on social media. For my sanity, I'll be using Gemini and DeepSeek for Facebook Arguments and summarizing articles.

Today I installed a wifi extender and had to create a related name for my network that I've been using for years. I'm proud.

Saved this a while back when that happened to me. Good luck!

Text: HEAVY CREAM -If you need heavy cream for a recipe, make your own by combining mix 2/3 cup whole milk with 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter. This will give you 1 cup of heavy cream... Good to know!

This is... actually a fairly reasonable takeaway from this year.

That's my plan as well! Get a sailboat and follow the coast, making stops only when I need to and it seems safe.

Gross. The music video was a constant reassurance that T-Pain wasn't under duress... Which means he was under duress...

Still feeling it out in my mind. I tend to use those words exclusively to explain an obstacle in a game. Things like repetition or thin margins I attribute to Difficult while using a range of skills or using them in unique ways as challenging. Thank you both for engagement! It means a lot.

John Cardarella @pandaradox.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

When say objective, I am speaking more on barrier side of the interaction though. Maybe more the range of skills tested versus the depth of a skill tested. I get that person's capabilities are subjective. The barrier is less so when difficult as it's more about the obstacle itself than player.

John Cardarella @pandaradox.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Maybe I'm trying to question engagement too closely to difficulty.

020 2

John Cardarella @pandaradox.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Fair. They are often used interchangeably. But I generally attribute Difficult to being more objective than subjective. Challenging seems to test and engage subjectively. A better question might be Does this challenge a player or is it difficult? Jigsaw puzzles can be easy to do but challenging.

John Cardarella @pandaradox.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

I'm trying to reconcile Difficult vs Challenging. I feel like Challenging is a dynamic cap/barrier as the player gains skills within the game like unlocking skills. Difficult has more of a static cap/barrier. Would a11y need to consider this or should all pathways be accessible regardless?

Also take some time to learn your personal mobile device's #a11y tooling. Android has some fascinating camera-based controls that serve as a great facilitator for team conversations. Remember the curb-cut effect as you deal with turkey guts and greasy fingers but it's always smart to know how.

It feels like we're constantly having to set expectations on what a11y is about. Like the same conference talks happen every year and are treated like advanced subjects. At some point, you need to take responsibility for your lack of understanding. So start here.

#ReactNative Devs: When I build my release, there are 8 dependencies that are not included in the AAR. How do I include them in the release?

9 I think it helps to say it out loud. You never say "divided by the product of 2 and the sum of 1 and 2" because you only encounter operations. It's like "divided by 2 times the sum of 1 and 2"
