Took this pic at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary years ago. I had no idea the anhinga was on a turtle's back until I looked at the photo at the end of the day! Reminded me of the Iroquois earth creation story of Sky Woman, where the great turtle offered its back to hold her after she fell from the sky.

Persistence pays off! At least in encouragement currency. After months of querying TWINLESS, we received a full request yesterday. Knowing an excellent agent is reading the entire manuscript is encouraging, and helps us keep going in the query trenches. Working on the next novel helps a lot too!

Happy Valentine's Day, to all who celebrate this day, and if you don't, well, have a heart! My husband and I came across this snow art on a walk at Conkle's Hollow in Hocking Hills this past week, so he promptly drew a heart for me in the snow with his walking stick. He will always be my Valentine ❤️

I have one in my office ! It is not in working order, but I wrote my first poems and short stories on it when I was a teenager. It’s great for inspiration.
