We need your help! We're still quite new to Bluesky and would love a few more followers. Please like and share this post. In return, reply with a colour or emoji and we'll find something from our collections. Thank you in advance 🙂

My planned submission to a local event only to find out it was full. Guess I waited to long to figure out what I wanted to paint. Oh well, such is life 🤷🏾‍♀️ @blueskyartshow.bsky.social @womensartbluesky.bsky.social #art #blueskyart #acrylic #fox #asheville

Still trying to wrap my head around this one. The patterns and textures…on a solid piece of fabric…with just thread…amazing work.

Obviously, I'm rooting for Taiwan, but it's impossible not to love this mustache: #Taiwan #Nicaragua #WorldBaseballClassic #WBC #Baseball

“Perfectionism is synonymous with control and fear.” When I accepted this was a trait I needed to break it made a difference not only in my art but also my personal life.

I’m getting closer to something…I can feel it. My brush strokes are getting looser and my perspective wasn’t too bad. I had to keep telling myself not to get into the nitty gritty details and just let go. #sketchbook #art #gouache

There’s still positive in the world! As someone who has to travel to a different state for my trans daughters care all this has me on pins and needles.

When I was little my favorite part of the new school year was my school bag with those fresh and crisp school supplies. I’d organize them and sit and look at them in appreciation. Im still like that with new art supplies.

I rarely take my art out and about. Because I can’t just do my sketchbook, pencil and a micron. What if I want color…who knows what color(s) I’ll want??!!…and materials! Do I want some oil pastels?? Maybe colored pencils…are paints reasonable? You get the picture literally and figuratively #art

Sick livestock are cut, lanced, drained, de-balled and then sent on their way with no antibiotics or dressings yet their bodies, in all the farm muck, have the ability to keep bacteria at bay and heal quickly. How? Any why just some species? Stay curious people it leads to books like the one below.

Have a submission date of 2/21… but imposter syndrome hits hard and I’m like a deer in headlights…frozen. I can’t seem to produce anything but no problem making a sketchbook fish 😃 Tips on getting past project pressure? #art #oilpastel #fish #sketchbook #animalart #dailyart #blueskyart

Finished reading Dear Hanna by Zoje Stage which people called a thriller on Good Reads. The only thing this novel did was make me slightly paranoid because I related to the main character a bit too much. Having me question if I’m a sociopath who never knew it. #books #booklover #fiction #read

Blunt oil pastels and a small sketchbook perhaps is not the best way to practice face proportions but it sure makes you not be precious about it. He looks wonky but I think it’s charming. #art #oilpastel #face #portrait #sketchbook #dailypractice

I heard the phrase “Stay informed and then stay grounded.” recently and it’s become very necessary to keep repeating it to myself.

Scrolling after being woken up by two separate snake dreams back to back. They both involved feeling anxiety/fear of knowing there were snakes hidden but not where. What does it mean? Perhaps current affairs are seeping into my psyche more than I realize? #dream #snakedream

Did you know there’s still debate on whether cats can be considered a domesticated species? Cats have untamed spirits and love is only given after mutual respect is achieved. I love that about them. #art #sketchbook #cat #catlady #catlover #coloredpencil #sketch

H5N1 bird flu detected in Buncombe County amid multiple dead birds at Lake Julian Park. A lot of the same precautions for covid apply here too: wear an N95 mask in public spaces. Also: don't let cats outdoors, consume raw milk or handle wild birds. #avlnews www.buncombecounty.org/countycenter...

I’ve been calling it art block but it’s been going on too long. I can’t seem to break through the mental barriers preventing me from being authentically myself and it’s stifling my creativity. So for now I create fish. They make me smile. Baby steps. #oilpastels #sketchbook #fish #fishart #joyinart

Just a Señora giving social media another try. Meta has me jaded and to be honest I’m not all that great at it anyway. But here goes…
