There's a kind of escapism that comes from a hard won victory over adversity, and I think a lot of people neglect to consider that a great many of us are really into *that* kind of fantasy, rather than the easy, frictionless kind.

It's obviously ridiculous but it's also depressing. Trying to make art fully formed in a single moment cuts the legs out of the community that supports its construction, it means you miss the fan fiction and organic growth of in-jokes and the like. Might be a weird point, but it saddens me ^^;

Fair, I just remembered a bit from an Innuendo Studios video and it kinda scanned ^^; I do think it is ultimately on an individual to understand their impulses and their temptations and act with clarity of purpose, so if they're being a total pill, they are being a total pill.

An argument can absolutely be made however that the real answer is Embric of Wulfhammer's castle because that game actually made me into a legitimate human being rather than the bizarre approximation of one I was prior. The Duchess of Elstwhere kinda is *my* origin story ^^

Two different loved ones of mine had their computers *entirely bricked* by Windows updates, even going to repair shops couldn't fix them and they had to get new hardware. It's genuinely maddening how Windows would make a better product by doing nothing.

Aaaaah, I played that a couple of times like, eight years ago at a small town con? Somehow I was the Scarlet Lady and then the Demon, and both times I ran a path of destruction and annihilated the villagers ^^ Good times, it's a very fun take on a social deduction game ^^

Oddly, though most of my family abandoned me, I didn't lose a single friend over coming out. Granted, I didn't have many to lose and one of them came out with me, but not a single person who wasn't related to me had a negative reaction.

If you want my personal advice I think the Dusk trilogy is a particularly fun one, The Arland Trilogy is classic but the design is pretty dated, and the Mysterious trilogy starts with the most boring game in the franchise (Sophie) and then gets profoundly bizarre from there.
