Why @wsocial.eu? It's EU-funded, EU-built, and EU-based, aligned with EU legislation (GDPR/DSA). They commit to better control of my feed & allow to verify real persons vs bots. Still plenty of questions on the platform and its governance, but for now, I'll go with the European 💙🇪🇺 solution!

So far for Putin's ambition to " demilitarize" Ukraine, a stated objective of the war. Zelenskyy mentioned before the Ukraine needs to be a "porcupine " to survive - and it is!

I understand that that it is complex, createdms new risks, etc. But if we simply stop any sanctioned Russian ship Russia sailing through the Baltic, we effectively stop the biggest chunk is Russia's oil & gas exports + hurt Putin's war economy big time!

A stupid question perhaps: so far shadow fleet vessels that are stopped are charged with ad hoc offenses: eg pollution, false flag. Is there no legal basis to arrest them as soon as they enter 🇪🇺 territorial waters? EU should aim to stop any sanctioned vessel passing through Öresund, the Channel, etc

The biggest risk of a nuclear power taken over by extremists with an agenda of religious fanaticism, moral superiority, and threatening to attack (eg Venezuela 🇻🇪) or annex its neighbours (eg Canada 🇨🇦, Greenland 🇬🇱) ... is the US themselves - as JD Vance himself repeatedly demonstrates.

Unusually, I disagree. Russia hoped on No decision, making 🇪🇺 geopolitically irrelevant, or confiscation of the 🇷🇺 assets, allowing Putin to call 🇪🇺 thieves Now Ukraine has the money to fight 2y more (unsure 🇷🇺 economy has that long) & EU still has the Euroclear joker for the future. EU sanctions should be much stronger. 🇪🇺 should forbid all sanctioned ships to pass through EU territorial waters. That would stop all oil transports from Ust Luga / St Petersburg, a major hit for Russia's export. (While Ukraine increasingly interdicts exports from Black Sea ports ☠️💪)

The Adler, a 🇷🇺 sanctioned ship is anchored in Sweden (technical difficulties?) 🇸🇪 can now inspect and potentially detain it. Russia's immense power & advantage over Ukraine are a myth. Let's face it: 🇷🇺 is a petrol station with an army. The country has the economy of a African nation (dependency on raw materials, small services economy), but less promising: denied market access, shrinking population, growing deficit.

Perhaps, but using the Russian assets is a card you can only pull once. Don't play your joker too early. Today's decision, plus last week's decision to block the assets for a longer period, means that the EU can still use this option in 2 years to support Ukraine when Russia's economy is bust 🇪🇺💙🇺🇦

Europe has already taken a big step in the last 4 years, increasing its military capacity. We must continue on that path to transform the small and disorganised (national) military industries into a smaller number of bigger manufacturers, and a united European standard.

No, as a political power, EU was never alive. Now it is (too) slowly growing, still very immature but more present than 10-15y ago. Today, the weight lies more with the countries ( 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇵🇱 ... and non EU 🇬🇧). Geopolitically, there are only small countries in Europe. Only EU 🇪🇺 can make us stronger.

Any "security guarantee" to protect Ukraine against future Russian attacks should be relevant, close to the front line, heavily armed and prepared to fight. If Putin "vetoes" it, the right response is: "You lost the right to veto anything when you started an invasion."
