If you have not read Ben Passmore's graphic novel Black Arms to Hold You Up A History of Black Resistance, it just won an Eisner and I highly recommend it. As Passmore says "Black liberation is your fight too." Thanks for this @benpassmore.bsky.social

Cover of Black Arms to Hold You Up A History of Black Resistance showing two Black men, one older wearing a beret with pins on it and a younger man in a white tshirt and pants running away from what look like giant guns with grey-on-white skulls in the background.

I'm an archivist. I've been a librarian. I guess mostly I'm just bossy. I've shushed at least one person in almost every session, because I don't want to hear your full voice conversation when I'm trying to hear a creator talk about a universe or their experience

Today was great. I learned a LOT when I didn't expect to, bought some lovely art, didn't get a headache, and am still excited about being here tomorrow.

This is one of the best talks I've ever heard about archives... But it's about comics.

I love that the IP lawyer shouted through his presentation like a used car salesman, but the Comic Defense Legal Fund folks are very quiet and controlled with their passion and anger

I have a fabulous researcher this week, and, true to form, I'm over sharing. Gotta be mindful of his limited time and... Well, he's probably got more interesting content than the funny old archivist here. Want some espresso?

Months ago I downloaded a "hyperlegible" font for use with researchers. Today I got a follow-up email about low-vision support and I burst into tears. I don't think I'm going blind but my vision is in decline and it was an unexpected kindness to hear from folks who could help.
