The gel medium has dried. It looks *sort of* wave-like—or maybe not quite... Right, next I think I'll add some deep blue here and there. Layering the colors, letting them dry, applying the gel medium... I wonder how many times I'll end up repeating this process. #histscalemodels

Yes! It’s always an experiment. Though, of course, it’s mostly failures! 🤣

It seems that to capture the look of a deep-colored sea surface, you have to repeat the process of applying color, then gel medium, then color again, several times.

In this photo, it looks like a rough sea, right? But... once it dries, it goes back to being a calm sea. 😅

I tried placing the I-400 on it this morning, and it looked good. However, the gel medium has turned transparent, giving it a different look than I had envisioned last night. I'll upload photos tonight.

There really are so many different types of liquid putty, aren't there? I wonder which one would be the best fit for me.

Hmm...? It doesn't look like anything has changed... Well, I guess I'll just spread it out really thinly so it starts looking like the surface of the sea. It'll probably start looking like the sea surface! ...Or so I hope. 😅

The base layer for the water surface has landed, so I'm running a test right away. By tomorrow morning, it should be looking pretty good... hopefully.

I headed out in the heavy rain to buy some aluminum foil for the sea surface, and this is how it’s looking. It’s exactly as I imagined! The diorama is coming along so well that I’m starting to think, "Maybe I should just leave it like this?" #histscalemodels

It’s a bit stark, but this is pretty much it. I personally tried to incorporate a "blizzard" feel into the space. Though, I guess that might not be obvious... 😅 The idea is that the wind is blowing snow from the rocky area in the back-left toward the right-foreground. Ah, that was fun.

I had errands to run all day, so it was a shame I couldn't spend time with the guys from Osaka 😭. Once I finished my errands, I did some cleanup, a tiny bit of dry brushing, and applied the decals. There’s still room for improvement, but I think it turned out pretty well.

There are still some rough spots that stand out, but I think I'll generally proceed with this approach. I have the day off tomorrow, so I might start thinking about the diorama base. A robot paired with a Japanese sword really is the ultimate combination! 😁
