Recognizing that the negative effects of the aid cuts will become more apparent over time, PAEMA will be conducting additional surveys with communities in Sudan, DRC, Burma and with the Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh in three and six months, with further reports to follow.

The report calls for immediate action to mitigate the devastating impact on communities worldwide and serves as a stark reminder of the human cost of foreign aid cuts to communities that were already under-resourced and experiencing protection threats.

Before January 2025, the U.S. government was the lead donor to all four communities surveyed. Our report highlights the severe consequences of the aid cuts and underscores the critical role that U.S. assistance played in providing essential services and support to populations impacted by conflict.
