We are thrilled that three German cinemas in Leipzig, Braunschweig and Dresden are showing selected films from last year's short film competition as part of AG Kurzfilm's Short Film Day: kurzfilmtag.com/programme/fu... Thank you to AG Kurzfilm, the organizers and the amazing filmmakers!

Next stop in our retrospective: The Filmhaus Bielefeld, where we realized a dream and had an all-analogue day. Beloved Lexi, structural backbone and trusted projectionist, had to adapt to unfamiliar equipment and the demands of historic film prints. She did a terrific job! [see comments for more]

We take pictures! Let's flick through them and look back at this year's festival. Shortly after the opening at the Gewölbe (gwlb) we sat down with Naomi Grützbach, Thorsten Driller, Ecki Steinhoff and Marco Siedelmann in a panel discussion on the topic of faith and sexuality. We thank you all!

Let's celebrate and go to the Black Sheep for some (un)holy psychotronics! First up is our print of the infamous Argentine stag EL SARTORIO (1907-13), and then it's time for SEX DEMON (1975), by far the most incredible gay porn adaptation of THE EXORCIST ever commited to celluloid. Free entry!

Delighted to open PorNoir on April 9 with Inka Winter's Hollywood noir hommage MURDER MYSTERY (2019). Afterwards we'll talk about the genre and screen THE DOUBLE EXPOSURE OF HOLLY (1976). It's a noir fest! Thanks to ForPlay Films for their kind support.

April 9: To kick off our new PorNoir series, we're showing THE DOUBLE EXPOSURE OF HOLLY (1976). A cuckolded lawyer, a New York hotel room, small-time crooks, drugs and a heap of surprises populate this dense blend of 'hardboiled' and 'hardcore' with an existentialist edge. See you at the AKKA!

Great article on the private archive of Candida Royalle (and a new book about her) that manages to be as nuanced and multifaceted as one could hope for. Amazing photos, too!
