whenever i come back from the uk i am reminded how _nice_ it would be if i were a morning person. got up at 6a after 9 hours of sleep. my apartment is clean, post-trip laundry is done, and i have gotten so much sun alas, it was not meant to be. i give it 5 days before my bedtime is midnight again

I went to a friend's PhD defense and it was wonderful to learn about all hia work and see so much love and support in celebration of him so I'm a bit sad I'll be graduating _without_ one (though am glad to avoid the stress) which is why, when I finish my phd, I will make my own "thesis" "defense"
