"Nekki Basara. I'm not 'Mr. Not-A-Soldier,' I've got a name too. Nekki Basara! Okay?" Despite the sharpness of his corrections, Basara maintains a chill demeanor and a casual smile. He's not mad, not really — he's just strongly opposed to the title. "I know a guy, he's a solider. I don't think +

"Let's go, running to the morning glow of the dream that you and I shared, we still have a long way to go..." Finding a nice spot on a quiet little planet and singing towards the rising sun; a very 'Basara' way to spend a morning.

Basara abhors the idea of using violence to solve his problems. On the rare occasion he is forced to, usually in order to protect someone, he takes absolutely no pleasure in it. He might even be shocked and angry at himself (and whoever put him into that situation in the first place) afterwards.

Post-series portrayal of Nekki Basara, protagonist of Macross 7. Pacifist ace pilot and rock star, Basara is the lead singer of the interstellar rock band Fire Bomber. He earnestly believes that the power of music can move mountains, shake the stars, and even extinguish the fires of war.
