Having spent nearly 14 years in Scandinavia, I have now been back in Brazil for over six months. The readaptation has been challenging indeed, but it has also been rewarding. Last week, I taught an introductory workshop on genomic analyses together with four other Brazilian colleagues.

Back in 2011, I left my Alma Mater to pursue a postgraduate education in a remote Nordic country. Today, the schedule for a mandatory course of its postgraduate program in Psychobiology hangs on my fridge. I hope my auditing this course will be a herald of a new relationship between myself and UFRN.

After almost 14 academic years in Scandinavia, I am glad to be back in Natal ☀️ Although I am still waiting for the outcome of a FAPESP Young Investigator Grant application, I met with some of my would-be collaborators last Thursday and was introduced to the Brain Institute at my alma mater — UFRN.
