Haskellers and other FP weenies: when people say Haskell is good for making DSLs, what do they mean? Is a bunch of functions that reads nicely, solving a specific problem in your codebase, a DSL? Is something like OCamls Angstrom a DSL? Feels like a term people like throwing around!

Depressed whenever parents tell me they use ChatGPT to tell their kids stories. You finally get the opportunity to exercise creativity together with your kid: let's outsource it to the slop machine.

I wrote a new blog post explaining why I think more people should practice "freecoding" (coding as much as possible from memory) haskellforall.com/2026/05/type...

Worse is better perhaps. I think fundamentally everyone knows deep inside that GUIs have the potential to be better. Worst case they could work exactly like a terminal. Best case they do that and much much more. Ok worst case is actually what we have today, just like you said! :^)

"Make no mistakes" I jokingly said, followed by Cladde refactoring code completely unrelated to this PR — that code had been identified as a mistake.

My biggest pet peeve with LLMs right now is that it turns people I respect into lazy fucking imbeciles: "haha yeah it was Cl*use that wrote that haha".

Now we need the opposite: compilation speed of Go and the power of the Haskell type system. Oh no I can already smell the baguettes!

They're frankly an acquired taste. Unless you hang out in underground programmer classes in a basement in Paris, there's a chance you've never heard about them. Anyway, they're currently my favourite type of types.

but the bottom "//" is a ligature, which makes the "//" look tighter than the two "//" above
