Serine protease HtrA promotes Campylobacter jejuni intestinal colonization through degrading antimicrobial peptide LL-37
HtrA enables C. jejuni to evade LL-37 killing by cleaving it, revealing a therapeutic target and a noncleavable LL-37 analog.
