Such as: (the show otherwise only does this for “canon” couples and Waltz for Stark and Fern (Frieren’s vaunted Canon Couple with many parallels to kawine) is playing)

Kanne is in a proposal-ish kneel in front of Lawine, holding her hand like she’s about to kiss it, and smiling adorably

How can u even interpret this sequence platonically (at least on Lawine’s part)

Compilation of three screenshots from the Frieren anime.

In the first one, Lawine is being unusually genuine and avoiding Kanne’s eyes. Subtitle reads “You’re cute when you smile.”

In the second, Kanne’s eyes have gone flat in a anime disbelief kind of way. Subtitle reads “What? Ew.”

In the third, Lawine kicks Kanne off a cliff (she has flying magic dw)

A screenshot of Ehre from frieren messily edited so she’s saying “The mental games are your coach’s philosophy, then?” Ehre is a pretty anime girl with fluffy brown hair. She looks kind of shocked. There are a lot of little rocks magically floating behind her.

The original text is “That’s your master’s philosophy, then?”

A screenshot of Fern from frieren messily edited so she’s saying “Yes. She said it’s enough to defeat fencers of this weapon” Fern is an also pretty anime girl with purple hair and eyes. The screen is zoomed in on her expressionless face.

the original text is “Yes. She said it’s enough to defeat mages of this era.”

I think I just drew a hand that I’m quite satisfied with

A decent pencil drawing of someone’s left hand, palm up

usa fencing’s points list redesign makes total sense and is not overcomplicated, why would you ask #fencing

If you're catching up, start with the original explainer [link], which lays out the whole system. Then there's the companion Q&A [link], written for parents, athletes and coaches working through the practical questions. Plus, we hosted a webinar to discuss these
changes, which you can watch on demand here [link] (passcode AM4B?NY=) and a podcast episode, which you can listen to here [link]

I’m really appreciating that one of the shortest fencers in competition of this level won

The 4 womens epee medalists pose for photos, Song Sera is by far the shortest
