At first, the grey palette was for a special usage but playing with gray colors isn't really fun so after I implemented the effect on the tutorial, I'm adding it to the game itself. Well, he doesn't talk that much about AI. They mostly said that they used it to try and see what the tech was exactly about and that it wasn't their thing and would never use it then. And it's dated from last December, it should be time to move on to other things anyway.
