While I did make and ship something, it did not make enough $. It's barely broken even on costs, not counting the time I spent on it. So I'm going to focus on making things I actually want to make and would want to play, not making slop for a Guy That Might Exist so I can make $ to make good shit.

I feel free to finally move on to other, more interesting things. I don't want to care about "the market" or whatever - I want to make art. This game was born out of a desire to prove I can make & ship something and hopefully ride the survivors-like wave and make enough $ to do it full-time.

I just can't keep opening the editor and adding more stuff to something that I don't care about. I've felt guilty about not finishing it and adding more "content" to it, but it's not the type of game I like at all. I've changed a lot in 3 years! EA & scoping the game as large as I did was a mistake

Laptop Linux can be annoying for built in hardware like speakers. Def look into some battle tested ones for specific distros. I've used a recent g14 with cachyos and other than speakers breaking and needing to fix it in a config file it's been great

I spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get them working on mine. Someone posted 1 line config in a discord months ago and that was the solve. Breaks every update and I have to manually edit again.

Seconding this. Larger studios (you know them) are obsessed with Claude. Most devs do not care about the concerns folks on here have. Some studios are even requiring it. Whether it actually helps doesn't matter, it feels like it does + lots of "everyone else is doing it, can't get left behind"

My school did a thing in the daytime and prom at night and my buddy and I skipped it to play video games. Idr what games, I vaguely remember him showing me phantasy star online and maybe Halo I just remember we didn't care about the prom stuff. Haven't ever felt regret about it

specific issue is that a custom resource just loses all data I added to it. It shows in editor, but the data somehow doesn't exist. I have to close and reopen the project to see reality. this is also on 4.4.1 and may have been fixed, but I don't want to risk updating an already live game
