Hey let's interact just like we might do on Facebook? This place seems so cold to me, all I seem to get is messages from bots and catfishers

Boycotting meta till the 26th, I deactivated FB last nite... Only now is it apparent just how often I reach for it for a dopamine chaser, as I have already clicked on the icon several times without thinking... Bluesky not as addictive. #LightsOutMeta

1st 10mile hike round the old mineral loop railway in #forestofdean about 100 yrs ago and more most ppl kept pigs, generally 1 on the wall (dead and preserved) and 1 in the cot... And used the ancient right of pannage during autumn and winter, so they could forage for acorns #commoning #photography

Travertine / tufa dams on Slade Brook formed by lime just below a spring on the edge of carboniferous limestone strata... But the approx 60 dams themselves occur as the stream flows through older, Devonian sandstone strata #geology #naturalwonders #forestofdean #photography

The Roman wall, medieval foundations and the 18th century edifices of the Royal Exchange and Bank of London with modern upstart skyscrapers looming behind, in the Capital of Britannia, England, Britain and in some senses the global centre of money laundering

Is it good news in Syria? Good to see Assad defeated, but not sure Al Qaeda successors will bring freedom or more slavery and brutality... However it sounds like it's not just Islamists who have brought Assad down, it's just that they are grabbing the headlines... #VivaRojava

Gorgeous if muddy walk along the bank of Britain's longest river, the Severn, after a visit to see the ancient yew at the medieval church at Awre. Did the yew predate the church? Seems old enough #photography #severn #yew #awre #ancient #timeless #forestofdean

At the "other place" even after its name changed from Twitter, people still referred to "tweeting" or "tweets"... so what's the equivalent here? Anyone know? #defining #definition #blueing #blues #skies #skying

First autumnal snowfall on Dogshit Alley... This charming epithet is now used for this section of the medieval burial path from Coleford to Newland Church, known as the cathedral of the Forest of Dean #photography #heritage #forestofdean #snow

The town where I live, Coleford in Gloucestershire, is built on cinders, iron waste, and many nearby sites offer reminders of the iron, ochre and steel industries which happened from preRoman to 80 years ago... So every walk for this PhD researcher is like a field study trip #photography #heritage

If you're calorie counting like I am, with 2 800 calorie fast days per week, you can't go wrong with miso soup, just 70 calories. Very tasty and filling. #food #japanese #healthy #lowcalorie #5:2

This summer till the clocks changed I and a friend had been walking the Wales coastal path, roughly 10 miles per day, and had completed the stretch from Chepstow to Kenfig, just east of Port Talbot, which is close to where this pic was taken. Missing the sea but doubt we will see it again till 2025

I am in the habit of walking and photographing whatever takes my fancy... Here's some bracket fungi on a well seasoned log... can anyone identify it?

Is this where we organise the anti-X resistance? Just being in a non-toxic atmosphere of people who believe in mutual aid is good enough for me...
