Finally got Croc on physical Switch by @argonautgames.com yesterday: 22 months, 2 days after ordering from @rockitgamesnow.bsky.social Never want to hear complaints about @limitedrungames.com taking forever on things ever again, this is by far the longest wait I've had for a current-system physical

But flicking through it in a bookshop, I did smile when seeing @hkt3030.neocities.org 's final co-credited piece on Yakuza in the current issue. Bought a copy, despite my German being bad to nonexistent. (2/2)

One thing I recently discovered while at Gamescom is that @retrogamermag.bsky.social 's German edition isn't just translations of the EN content, it's a quarterly magazine with its own writers. 70% is unique for the DE market. (1/2)

The problem is you need to believe this. Gaben can be a benevolent dictator but that doesn't mean his successor will be.

Overlord氏 @overlord44.bsky.social · 28/07/2026

Nope! Not being able to own a game, and instead have it be a rental situation that can be removed on a whim of the supplier, is a deal breaker for me. I already have enough older titles to last me the rest of my days.

Overlord氏 @overlord44.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

And from that final disc streamed... @hkt3030.neocities.org would have loved this achievement by the dev team. Still miss ya, buddy.

I do wonder what the UK percentage would be now. A lot of Leave voters have died in the 10 years since the vote, and a lot of kids have entered voting age knowing not a lot more than "things have got worse in the last decade".

Spain win the World Cup, and Mbappe takes the Golden Boot for France. Good! Argentina deserve nothing after that shameful display following the England match's conclusion.

blog.playstation.com/2026/07/01/p... Utterly disgusting. Looks like new game purchases are coming to an end, retro-only from here on out. I am not buying DRM'd software that requires external activation and that can be removed remotely by the publisher.

Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles

In response to shifting trends in consumer preference, new games will be released on PlayStation Store and at retailers in digital formats only.

For gaming specifically: Good job I prefer older stuff, may well now be the time that's the only realistic route for new experiences For general computing: awful news for when hardware breaks, as it inevitably does. Last PC I had 8 years and was fine but the OS obsolete: new one has been less solid

And Bulgaria wins! The best outcome I think, and a genuinely out-of-nowhere success. Guess we're going to Sofia next year #eurovision2026

Overlord氏 @overlord44.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

Public votes now rolling in. UK finishes with a single point (from the jury votes) - a shame, the song deserved more than that. We finish last as a result... though we're not the only country to get 0 from the public, Germany and Belgium have as well #eurovision2026

Case in point, them doing a few lines of "Save All Your Kisses For Me", the UK's entry from 1976. Genius #eurovision2026

Good job to Look Mum No Computer: song was decent and is quirky enough that it won't be forgotten. Might be in with a decent shot of a decent table place this year - we won't win, but left side of the board is reasonable. #eurovision2026

Overlord氏 @overlord44.bsky.social · 16/05/2026

Initial thoughts: * Love Germany's outfits * Ukraine's song was very good * Australia was very good as well, I can see why they're one of the favourites.

Been a while since I've seen this ad. My favourite thing about it though is they presumably paid him the rights to make this, and by the sound of it, it could well be him playing that guitar... but it is in no way Joel Veitch actually doing the singing. Either he or the ad company said no.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=i5Od... Started watching TADC. I'm only on episode 3 (no spoilers, please!), but this track in particular has been stuck in my head the last few days. Between this and Kingler's speech to Pomni in the dark in episode 3... Show has hit me a lot harder than I expected.

(1/4) It has risen... After 25 years of being locked away behind some of the most insane software/hardware protection I've ever seen for a $25 unlicensed console accessory, SEGA Dreamcast's DreamMovie has been unlocked, and is available for all! DOWNLOAD github.com/DerekPascare...

In-person shopping is dying everywhere - at this point I just try to buy online where I can (this is harder for the rare purchase of something like shoes, but eh. Is it possible to get a subscription to Retro Gamer outside the UK? Might be easier, though I dunno about pricing.

And this has been ruined by bringing back one of the most cringe, pathetic villains the franchise has ever made. A huge shame, I was largely enjoying this.

But everything he claimed wasn't in "leave-it-up-with-no-revenue-to-you" status, it's full-on scorched-earth "get this off the internet" mode of being taken down, is my understanding. I can't understand his motivation beyond him just being a massive prick.

It's also worth reading down this guy's comment chain: he was involved with the project and some of his Discord snapshots are telling of the care that went into this release. But because LLMs touched it at some point in some way, it'll automatically be the spawn of Satan to some. *shrug*

020

Overlord氏 @overlord44.bsky.social · 28/02/2026

The hottest of takes (apparently): not a terrible idea. Taking drudgery out of work is exactly the sort of thing LLMs are supposed to be for; this project actually succeeded where 25 years of prior efforts haven't: playable EN Segagaga. The tools exist for another translation, but I doubt anyone will
