From the article “What we have shown through the study of people with different career lengths is a clear dose response relationship. We're --over 90 percent are NFL players, but I think we're still around two-thirds of our college
players we have studied have had it, and about a third of our high school. We know, again, that sampling bias, so the numbers got to be lower than that, but it's still far too many, considering 20 million men have played high school football in this country.
And so I hope this is the moment where we shift the conversation to this is a minority of
players, and we don't have to worry about this, to one where we say, OK, this is a public health crisis that we need to confront, not only in the NFL, but throughout football. And there are a lot of men who are going to need treatment and a cure.”

I followed her long enough to reply…got immediately blocked. Clearly a delicate flower 🙄

Sevenohthree posted “This shit has gotten ridiculously out of hand. Not everything is offensive. Should we not mock his hair 'cause OMG what if we upset toupee wearers?!?!”

I replied “Or maybe criticize him for the vile behavior he exhibits rather than a physical issue he can't control?”

And your legal background is…?

Screenshot of NYT article:”It did so by recasting a single word,
"harm."
For more than 50 years, the federal government has used a broader definition of harm to animals under the Endangered Species Act, a bedrock environmental law. It included any significant "modification or degradation" of habitat that kills or injures animals by impairing their ability to eat, shelter or breed.
The Supreme Court upheld this interpretation in 1995, ruling against property owners who argued that harm should only mean directly killing or injuring an endangered animal.”

Cooking to over 158 degrees will kill the cyclospora parasite

From AP: “Noel has some tips for washing produce:
When washing items like cilantro and basil, separate the leaves. For green onions, cut off the roots, remove the outer layer and run them under water while rubbing the surface.
Cooking produce to an internal temperature of 158 degrees Fahrenheit (70 degrees Celsius) or higher will kill cyclospora.
Research shows that washing fruits and vegetables in vinegar can be helpful. Vinegar won't kill the parasite but can help remove it.
Noel recommends submerging produce in a bowl filled with three parts water and one part vinegar and swishing it around for a few minutes. Using a salad spinner to rinse with water can help get rid of the vinegary taste.”

Mills was still on the ballot, as was Costello, and LaFlamme ran a write in campaign. Mills dropped out…. not sure if there’s anything in the rules about what happens when the number two vote-getter dropped out before the election…?

Vote tally showing Mills got almost 20% of the vote in Maine’s Democratic Party primary despite having dropped out before the election
