I've basically stopped w $150+ comms cause despite being of simple characters (i.e. a blue dog w red hair or smth), it comes out low-effort. friends comm the same people, get their usual standard. 3/4 of the times I pay $200+, I swallow my spit and just walk off without even saving the image

struck gold with my method of drawing grease/sauce on a specific layer setting (I forgot which one) that makes it a more red-orange color the thicker it is, and using a smear brush to spread it and create streaks/stains on the body. it's so palpable and you can taste it just looking at it
