Don't get me started on adult books published with pastel colours cartoony YA esque covers.

My week summed up. Library job finished. Home to bookpost and cat cuddles.

I keep eyeing these up but can't quite bring myself to buy them because I just know I'll lose one within 3 mins of using them.

January TBR. Lots of February releases and lots I'm excited for. Might slip in a few graphic novels towards the end of the month if I get through these.

It's not even all the washing that bothers me. It's the relentless putting away of clean washing that does me in.

Flew through this last night. UKYA dystopia done brilliantly well. Gave me lots to think about @writerpolly.bsky.social

Oh yes. I suspect leaking water bottles in school bags are the main culprit.

Not a librarian but I spend a lot of time working on school libraries. Worst thing is mouldy books that no one has bothered to bin.

My 5 stars reads of 2024 I tried to slim it down to a top ten but I read so many books that it was pretty much impossible. I loved every single book featured here. Lots of lovely UKYA which continues to be my favourite thing Thanks to all thr publishers who keep me supplied in reading material.

Mine is a bit of a combo. I include older stuff I've read through the year.

Mine is ready. Mostly because December is purely reading January releases so will include them in next year's round up (and therefore have included jan 2024 releases read last December in this year's round up). Makes sense in my head. Means I can switch off social media from Christmas to new year

I've started a 2025 UKYA list on goodreads. It's for YA books published in 2025 by authors from or living permanently in the UK www.goodreads.com/list/show/21... Anything missing I need to add? #UKYAbooks #UKYA #UKYAreads

Quick reminder that the books you read as a kid may have a warm space in your heart, but they may not be appropriate for kids today. Some stories should stay in the past. There are soooo many amazing books published that are inclusive and diverse today, rec those! #Kidslit #Readingforpleasure

I should start up an account solely showcasing the things I've binned from school libraries

Anyone else really not bothered about Christmas this year? I'm looking forward to some time off but been bombarded with advertising for it for so long that I'm bored of all of it before it even starts.

I have been reviewing books online for about 15 years and became a children's bookseller in 2022. I particularly love YA and Teen reads and will gladly read younger right down to picture books. Always happy to consider review requests

Ah yes. We are all fairly territorial when we get a decent box at the shop. Ummm there's a question. I rarely ask for books because no one ever buys me them. I am excited for A game of Scandal by Laura Woods in new year and the next Sam Sedgman. What's on yours?
