This year in gaming I have liked games. I have adored games. I have loved games ... but Control Resonant is a game that has enthralled me at a fundamental level, telling a deeply human tale of connection & healing in the weirdest way possible. We don't get many like this.

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Brother, I'm seeing stars. CONTROL Resonant has got a hold on me that isn't purely gameplay; Remedy is weaving one of their most thoughtful and emotional stories as Dylan reconnects with the humanity he was denied for so long 🙃

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

lI'm looking at this new stuff from the Yotei DLC and I'm like trying to figure out of if it's a Expedition 33 fit ... and it took me WAY LONGER than I'd like to admit to clock the fucking cordyceps head haha

000

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

I love it when I let myself be hyped for a game & I am GOD DAMN REWARDED! CONTROL Resonant is so far everything I wanted it to be & absolutely more! How is Remedy able to reverse face on so much of their past design philosophy, be peak, & still feel undeniably like one of their games?

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

New Key art for God of War Laufey gods DAMN I am so hyped for this game! And she's gonna have freaking air combos LET'S GOOO

040

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

CONTROL Resonant is my most anticipated game of the year and it's FINALLY HERE! We're gonna have a normal week of streams and will not go overtime at all. The Games: - CONTROL Resonant 🔨 - Persona 4 Royal 🃏 stay safe out there <3

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

As subversive as it is at times, Persona 5 couldn't help but put in the rival character for the MC and getting close to end I get the Akechi love now from the fandom, especially after THAT scene (you know the one). Robbie Daymond kills it here - can't wait to see where it goes!

010

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

OK! My final, unfiltered thoughts about the new Resident Evil movie. The more I think about it the more I love it as a piece of art that explores certain aspects of survival horror games, though I feel it's a pretty weak Resident Evil movie. Will deff pick up the BluRay though! Spoilers Below

000

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Upon further reflection I think I was uncharitable & not really thinking about what the movie was trying to do. I am absolutely now in the camp of this being an apocryphal subversion, but it's deeper than that since it requires a knowledge of the games most viewers won't know.

110

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

Well. I liked it a lot as a movie (except the ending). As a Resident Evil movie I dunno boss. Most charitable I can be is to say you know how whoever made Shadow of Mordor must have known deep Lord of the Rings lore to fuck it up as much as they did and still make it good? 🧵

110

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Don't worry everyone in about to see Resident Evil - I'll let you know if it's good or not

060

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

That's a wrap on Wolverine! I came to really love this game! The frantic & smooth combat on the highest difficulty required a consistent lock-in for victory which I enjoy and this remix of X-Men lore is so utterly refreshing that I found myself actually surprised at some plot points!

110

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

I'm really enjoying this adaptation of Wolverine; he feels a lot closer to the comic version of Logan vs the movies who I feel was often used as an aura-farming loner. Fine for a short movie, but it misses the nuance of a man who wants to connect but is deeply afraid of his past.

010

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 20/09/2026

I'm actually pretty excited to get back to more Wolverine, but it'll be over at some point so we'll devote the rest of the week to Persona 5 before I give my life fully to Control Resonant next week :3 The Games: - Wolverine 🧬 - Persona 5 Royal 🃏 Stay safe out there <3

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Brother, all I'm asking is for ONE of these people to become a reoccurring viewer on Twitch that's all - not too much to ask right? 😂

060

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

QTEs in the PS2, 360, and early PS4 eras were imo rightfully dragged in reviews and social media for being overused; more hard lined cynics would even say it "wasn't gameplay" and now in the modern era we have people actually complaining that QTEs nowadays are low stakes 🫠

Wolverine has some rough spots, specifically in some animations/hit boxes but overall I am loving this ride! On the hardest difficulty combat is no joke and you have to lock in and you know me I love that shit! I have crazy theories on the plot & can't wait to see if I'm right!

It finally happened! After nearly 30 years of playing Magic The Gathering I finally killed someone with the bad touch! Not only did Phage kill my wife, but it let Zenos' main ability wipe the rest of the table! No divorce papers yet thankfully.

I have few words that can fully encapsulate my love for Onimusha: Way of the Sword; it's intoxicating, and unbelievable that modern Capcom (a dev I love) was able to produce something that evoked such pathos & earnest charm. Oh yeah, and the combat is absolute best in class 👹

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

I'm looking forward to Wolverine, but I hate that Onimusha is gonna be swept out of the algorithms - well, what little presence it had 🥺

Posting this here in case you ever encounter one of the idiots in the wild who think Starship Troopers is meant to be taken at face value as a celebration of militarism. But we know the actual words of the director won't sway them 💀 www.the-independent.com/arts-enterta...

Damn, for new games this year, Onimusha might be the one to beat for me ...

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

I love video games and it is my upmost desire to keep sharing them with you all, so I have made the incredibly difficult decision to do something I was already going to do and stream this week. The Games: - Persona 5 Royal 🃏 - Onimusha: Way of the Sword 👹 - Wolverine 🧬 Stay safe out there <3

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

Thank you all very much for the support for the subathon! Very fun stream, finally getting some answers in Persona 5, and you all were kind enough to let me sleep, haha. I didn't plan for a stream tonight, so I'll see you all Monday at the normal time <3

020

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

YOU'LL NEVER IT COMING! Well maybe you did since I've been advertising it, but the 24-Hour Persona 5 Royal Subtember Subathon begins NOW! 🃏 www.twitch.tv/overboredgam...

020

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

24-HOUR PERSONA 5 ROYAL STREAM! Ok, it's a minimum 4-hour stream with a possible 20 more to add via subs (tis the season in Subtember), so let's see how far we can go! See you @ 8PM EST tonight! We're going to begin with unlocking all the new Royal content 🃏

053

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

Fuck reviews. Play the game yourself or find a content creator whose tastes strongly align with your own and watch their playthrough. If I blindly followed reviews & group think I wouldn't have tried games like Slitterhead, Dead Island 2, Forspoken, Rage 2, & Hell is Us.

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is catapulting itself into one my favorites of the year! I think this is some of Capcom's best dialogue and characterization, and that's on top of a sleek combat focused game with the slickest Samurai swordplay since Sekiro 👹

250

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Reminder all we'll be starting an hour later tonight! Currently getting crushed at bar trivia. See then for more Onimusha!

031

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

Night 1 down for Onimusha: Way of the Sword and this game SLAPS! I was a bit worried about the easy difficulty from the demo, but the boss fights more than make up for the durdling of the normal mobs. It's such a high quality production I just want to parry my way fully through!

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Persona 5 tonight since we finished Mortal Shell 2 last night!

010

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

God of War Ragnarok has come to an end and god damn this game is a masterpiece! Not once did I feel a drag on story & gameplay; every moment is filled with the weight of emotional gravitas of the story and satisfying & brutal combat - I could not put this game down!

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 06/09/2026

NEW-GAMEAGEDDON HAS BEGUN! That means I gotta get at least some of the games on my plate BEAT so let's wrap up Mortal Shell 2 this week OH YEAH SPECIAL EXTRA PERSONA 5 SUBATHON STREAM ON SATURDAY! The Games: - Mortal Shell 2 🦞 - Onimusha: Way of the Sword 👹 - Persona 5 Royal 🃏 Stay safe <3

010

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 02/09/2026

Damn. Who'd a thought that in a night that featured one of the most shocking scenes in all of God of War (you know the one) my mind keeps going back to this one, this scene of absolute disappointment & love. Thrud's admonishment of Thor & his drinking cuts deeply into the real.

010

Brawli @overboredgaming.bsky.social · 31/08/2026

The update for Mortal Shell 2 fixed most of the issues people have with the game, generally smoothing the process & I'm happy with it too but ... I do miss the weird friction their initial design decisions had. Bizarre NPC aggro, patrol, & leashing made every outing "unique" 😅

Getting mad at failure, & only failure means you are focusing on the wrong thing, that you're only focusing on results. Focusing on the result blinds you to the process of getting better, of honing the skills to get you the result you want. Thanks GoW for keeping me on the Path🪓

Damn, they really went all out for Kasumi's transformation in Royal; she got a full blown magical girl transformation scene! Love her look, it's like what if a Bloodborne character had spanx! This whole sequences was awesome now I wait for the next Yoshizawa plot point!

Despite not being a fan of Dolly & being unfamiliar with most of her philanthropic work I can absolutely say she had a profound effect on my life in that her production company produced Buffy The Vampire Slayer. I love who am b/c of my love for Butfy, so I will be forever grateful.
