I'm not here for politics but for movies, art & humor. If those are the focus of your acct I'll probably follow. I'll likely also post about the mindf*ck of getting older.

A meme. Text: "When you're dating length but girth walks by." Photo: a young male couple holding hands; the fit man on the right is looking shocked at his boyfriend, in the middle, who is looking back over his shoulder admiringly at a stocky large man on the left who is walking by.

Is there a "Shriners for Seniors" where I can get a new penis? 😂 A new lean body, a new hormonal system, new perfect hearing ears?
Logo of the "Shriners Hospitals For Children" with "children" lined out and replaced with "decrepit old folks."

The last few years have seen my body really age into its years. One change is the now nearly 100% lack of libido. But you know, I'M GLAD FOR THAT. It's like I'm now free of a curse that's gnawed at me and not taken my "no" for an answer for the last ~55 years. IT'S A RELIEF to be free of that!

The Twilight Zone episode "It's a Good Life" sounds very familiar: "a community under the control of an emotionally undeveloped, psychopathic child. It explores themes of absolute power, the horror of unchecked authority, and the psychological terror of living under a tyrant who is also a child."

Man oh man. Soul Train from right smack in the height years when I would never miss it. Every weekend. And loving Stevie on the radio since 1972 when I was 12. Mm mm mm. Great years.

TMI: when sitting in my recliner I love putting one hand down my pants to fondle, massage & roll around my foreskin. I think it's more a COMFORTING thing than sexual. Kinda like pulling a blanket up around your body & snuggling under its comfort.
Against an orange background, the very top (only) of a bald headed man pokes out of a turtleneck sweater so tall it covers almost all of the man's head.

I'm watching "An Unmarried Woman" starring Jill Clayburgh. I last saw this when it was originally released in 1978 (I was 18). I love the simplicity of just setting up the camera in various NYC locations and letting terrific actors perform a good script naturalistically.
Simple movie poster (all white background) of all lower case letters that reads "an unmarried woman" (with the "o" in woman being a wedding ring slightly lower as if it's falling away) and actress Jill Clayburgh sits casually on the word "unmarried," perhaps looking bored or maybe wryly amused.

I'm watching the 1954 movie Creature from the Black Lagoon on a streaming channel. I wish I'd seen it as released initially in the polarized 3D process. Instead, in 1980 I saw it in the cheaper two-color anaglyph process which wasn't effective and hurt my eyes. So now, bucket list: see it polarized.

2025 movie "Dorothea" about Sacramento serial killer Dorothea Puente is like a 21st century 1960s Bette Davis grande guignol campy horror flick. Murder and a wry humor. If you understand this is what you'll see then you'll likely enjoy the ride. Imagine John Waters directing "Baby Jane." 😂😵 #filmsky

I just watched a 1975 episode of the Carol Burnett Show with her guest Cher. The chemistry between the two is powerful. As if totally comfortable with each other. Friends, with lots of trust. And of course both wearing fabulous Bob Mackie gowns!
Entertainers Carol Burnett and Cher. Both dressed in stylish dresses, in a photo of them from the waist up.

In the #BusterKeaton 20 minute film "One Week" I literally laughed out loud at this hilariously timed gag. Buster is moving his house but it's stuck on railroad tracks and a train is coming. So he nails the back seat of his car to the house to pull it off the tracks. Then this happens. 🤣 #filmsky

Actress Jo Van Fleet is over the top brilliant in the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode "Shopping for Death" (written by Ray Bradbury). She plays a snarly mean neighborhood woman who shouts nonstop abuses at everyone and has a later touching monologue when she reflects on her life.

I'm watching the 1999 movie The Boondock Saints. The script, overwritten into almost parody of tough guy language, and actors over-directed into overacted performances that make the overwritten script even worse, make the experience painful.

I'm watching "Birds II: Land's End." The opening credits had a warning about its quality because it said Directed by Alan Smithee, which is the name directors will attach to a film that came out so bad they want to disavow involvement. But I've seen worse TBH, and star Brad Johnson is a snack.

Why do so many brothers become film directors? Quay, Coen, Wachowski (brothers when they began), Russo, Safdie, Hughes, Farrelly, etc. Has anyone explored this in an article, like interviewing brothers to learn their motivations to collaborate, their efficiencies, etc? #filmsky #cinema 🎬

I'm watching the original Scream movie from 1996. Which brings back awful memories because THEY DIDN'T CALL ME TO AUDITION for the voice of the killer. They called in a bunch of voiceover actors and a guy I knew, Roger Jackson, got it. Happy for him but I was PISSED OFF that they didn't even call me

2006 movie "Penelope" featuring Catherine O'Hara (and starring Christina Ricci). Cute. Sorta fairy tale romcom but not too sappy sweet. O'Hara was fine but not a Moira Rose 😂. Ricci's character is cursed by a witch with a pig nose. Disgusted, men run from her but I think she's cute even w the nose.

Curious, I again just took an online test to see if my personality type has changed over the years. AGAIN, consistently for probably 15 years (more; less?), I emerged as INTJ. INTJ-T, specifically. I read the online descriptions of this type and I've never felt so precisely described, understood.

As we are a doomed race, chained to a sinking ship, as the whole thing is a bad joke, let us, at any rate, do our part; mitigate the suffering of our fellow-prisoners; decorate the dungeon with flowers & air-cushions; be as decent as we possibly can. Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway (1925) #Painting

I saw the movie Cocoon in the cine when it came out in 1985 when I was 25. I'm now closer to the the age of the old folks in that movie so I probably should see it again from this perspective.

As I age I find that I like a lot more baroque music. Not because I'm becoming more elderly-conservative and traditionalist about my choice of classical music, but because I'm just tired (of everything) and baroque seems more calm and pacifies my crankiness. For example: youtu.be/Ly7AINiOhfg?...

I just watched the stop-motion animation movie "A Town Called Panic." Eh. I see people posting that they loved it. Yeah, cute, but I'd only give it about a 6/10. I loved the bold audacity attempted in its story and technique, but both of those also left me unimpressed in the result. #filmsky

Color photo of dirty old off-white double doors in the center of a building with horizontal slats of wood. The entire scene looks like one half of the image is duplicated on the other side. Right and left sides are symmetrical and nearly exact: one of the double doors (both framed with an old wood door jamb); nearer the foreground are wooden support columns on each side and, behind them, on each side, old windows. The double doors and building are back from the foreground, with a sort of wooden walkway between the doors and pillars in the foreground.
