Support isn't only for crisis. It's maintenance. If groups aren't your thing, support can be one friend, one therapist, one safe online space, one community resource. You don't have to translate your experience to everyone, but you shouldn't carry it alone. #cancer

The mental and emotional impact of cancer, from diagnosis, through treatment & post treatment does not get enough attention. I was told the waiting list for counselling was 18 months. My team had the attitude "you survived surgery & chemo, what's your problem". #CanSky #Cancer #Survivorship

#Cansky don’t allow somebody to minimize your cancer diagnosis. No matter what stage, grade, type, etc., until somebody has set in a chair and told they have cancer. They have no room to speak.

I think what some don’t realize post cancer diagnosis or treatment is while physical the battle might be over or “stopped,”….. The mental for some is just beginning. Living your life in 3-6 month intervals waiting for scans and bloodwork is miserable.
